  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Optitron2 - Wireless remote for Canon/Nikon glass

Loic. . . if you're used to the Birger/Impero combo, you will really enjoy the Optitron 2, as well.

i do hope so ! the birger and impero combo was 1700usd if i recall correctly, to get the same thing from Optitron you are around 2800/3000usd wich i always found a bit steep. tier 3 and 4 get the price around that reasonable range.
Jacek is there any way to get an order number update or a way to deal with those who want to jump in at the tier 3/4 price?
thanks

I think to get to 3 or 4 we need that enough people pu their mane here to get to tier 3 or 4.

I totally see that there is where the sweetspot happens.
So let the names flow! :)
For the better of all of us.

Gunleik, as far as i get it there is no clear statement on deposit refund? i would jump in to get the number higher but only if i can back of if that sweet spot is not reached.

List your name here, but if we reach that tier, pull the deposit.
Trying to gauge enough interest to get to that tier.

Here is all of the deposit info from the OP, condensed:

Your order represents a commitment to purchase items at tier 1 pricing though you could ultimately end up paying less. Canceled orders may result in forfeiture of deposit at the discretion of Optitek.
...

Failure to submit payment in full by that time may result in a forfeiture of deposit at the discretion of Optitek.
...

Any order in good standing that is not shipped by end of business 11/22/15 will entitle the participant to a full refund within 15 days.

If the minimum number of ten OptiTron2 unit sales are not met under this group buy the offer will be rescinded and any and all deposits shall be returned in full to the respective participants by 10/30/15.

The deposit is there to ensure that all parties fulfill their end of the bargain. It is refundable essentially if Optitek fails to ship on time, but Optitek reserves the option to refund deposits if they so choose.

Under the deal, we guarantee a minimum of 10 units to justify a group discount. Without the deposit users could cancel their orders without penalty and leave the group below the minimum after the discount was calculated, voiding our group deal. In that way the deposit is both our evidence of good faith as well as insurance to all users and to Optitek.

As noted in my prior post deposits can not be pulled once the order is placed. They represent a commitment to the group.

Understand. That's why I try find out how many want to get in if we manage to become enough for let's say tier 3.
They can pay the deposit when the group is big enough for that.

I think there are many interested in this who don't sign up because the price, but who would be interested at tier 3.
If we can get a list here of those and know how many are in, it could get into a nice group all of a sudden.

Just a hunch, but just trying to gauge how many we could collect, given that we reach say tier 3

Its catch 22 for sure. I would be interested at higher tiers but as far as can see we are 4 away from even first tier.

Guys. . . you are all going to love the system. Simple as that. It really is a no-brainer! And remember, I've got nothing at stake here: I bought mine without benefit of the group buy!

Stephen

Hey Scott I've been away, I'm in for tier 3 and 4 if we get there, sorry for not getting back to you before!!

Good to know, thanks!

I have to admit I was apprehensive about taking names at a reserve tier, but I see the benefit now.

All interested parties please sound off!
