You need to have your exact order. I'm going to contact everyone in the next 3 days and get contact info which is name, email and phone number. Then you'll have a chance to finalize your order. I pass that on to the sales rep and they'll contact you with an invoice based on that order so you can pay. You'll provide your shipping information at that time but the order will already be set up in their system.

So if you want to add anything, you just have to let me know sometime before we close the gb, which is coming soon!

Sorry to be late to the game with questions!

I currently use 1000W tungsten lamps with Chimera softboxes. I want more output so was considering 2000W fixtures to get another stop.

I know these cannot be directly comparable, but what ballpark are we at in terms of light output with a Gemini 2x1 compared to a 1KW tungsten bulb in a softbox?

It's so hard to say because you have to take into consideration your particular unit, it's beam angle, the bulb you're using, the type of diffusion you have on the softbox, etc...

There has been some discussion on this previously in this thread but here's something to consider. In this review, the photometrics show the Astra 6X to be the equivalent of a 1k tungsten at full spot. I haven't tested this myself but I own Astras and this seems about right to my eye.

The Astra 6X is a 110w fixture with a narrow beam angle. The Gemini is about 3-4X as powerful as an Astra with a wider spread. So as long as we're just ballparking the Gemini is about 3-4X brighter than your 1k tungsten, and likely closer to 4X as the Gemini already has a built-in diffusion panel and your tungsten is going through a softbox.

This is why the Gemini is priced where it is. It's not just versatile because it can do RGBW, it's a very powerful fixture.

I don't know as I haven't seen it and description online is fairly slim. It definitely fits the yoke. And the snapbag and grid are very compact. I have a different case and just sorta shove it all in there and it works.

At full brightness, how painful are these to be around open faced in terms of not being able to look at or near the fixture?

Has anybody figured out a way to mount then vertically like you can with the Arri S60?

Haha, is there a Scoville scale for staring at lights? Like how hot is a pepper type of thing?

There's a diffusion panel built into the light, so it's nothing like being around an open face fresnel.

haha there should be! I had tried the Hexolux with their small softbox and they were really bright which was uncomfortable for some people.
