  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

If Abel Cine ever offers the cases by themselves, they could be cheaper for US customers that way, avoiding possible higher shipping charges to the vendor (if savings are passed on to customers), avoiding higher shipping charges to the customer, and by bypassing exchange rate and money transfer issues.

Pierre, I've changed my mind as well and would like to go ahead and pay for the hard case. Please send me a link to my email so that I can pay for it. I encourage others to get the hard case as well.

It just makes more sense to get the hard case now when you think about the long haul over time. That soft case will get wrecked after a year or two being thrown around and you can't stack it with other pelicans, not to mention exo being banged around. How quick is the setup time out of the hard case Pierre?

Have to go with soft case because I wasn't planning on a extra immediate $550+ purchase. I'd rather get one later (either through L'aigle or a 3rd party) when I can plan for it.

For my order of two, I want one with soft case, and one with hard case. I went through the link to confirm. Plus I paid with wire transfer earlier today. Are they going to be shipped together or in two separate boxes? I'm figuring it's two. Please let me know.

Best regards,
Collin Martin

I have been in the US for 25 years, but I am Italian

Ciao Ketch,

So you can appreciate cultural differences. In some culture, a vendor gets to be called names and he doesn’t care as long as he earns money. In other cultures, it’s honor first, money after.

I stand for being responsible of what you say and what you do and assume consequences. I don’t get to be disrespected in real life, I don’t tolerate it from people behind a computer neither. Those three people will get a refund.
The main reason being that they don’t understand what it’s all about here. We are offering units with no profit for advertisement purposes. If people do not consider themselves collaborators, but just regular buyers requiring regular customer service, it doesn’t work for us. These people have to get in the regular buying loop and enjoy regular customer service, paying for it.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

But I guess, the nature of this advertisement operation is not really understood by everyone. This explains that a nice fellow I met in Las Vegas, Curt Pair, sees no harm in another Group Buy to struggle several months now to find a case like ours, get together in a group, design foam cut inserts, going through all the joys of a groupbuy process and maybe get delivered in december to save 50 bucks in the end. Time is money, right!

To all the others who ordered the case, a big thank you. Appreciated! A friendly acknowledgement of our work!

Here are both options again ‘for your consideration’!:

Hi Pierre,

Having followed the progression of your conception and design from first seeing it at IBC, and seeing what you have gone through to make a state of the art piece, I admire your commitment to your aptly put "collaboraters". Integrity in, integrity out. Those are the breaks.

Wow I've noticed quite a bit of drama in this group buy. I'm sorry to everyone who is involved, including the buyer and the seller. Regarding the case drama, what he's charging for a case is not *alot* of money. In the end he's probably just making a few dollars of profit. Maybe less.

Pierre,

I have already apologized but will say it again. I AM SORRY FOR ANYTHING I SAID TO OFFEND YOU. I never called names or anything like that. Simply expressed how I feel about the communication thus far.

Please understand things from our position too. I didn't know that customer service was not included in the group buy. I thought it was a given that communication would be part of the buy. How can we be collaborators without communication?

When I woke up and saw your email the other day saying that the promised hard case was now an option I was frustrated. To me that is not just another expense but another trip to the bank and another wire transfer fee. If the case cost were part of the original purchase I'd have taken that option because it would make sense. But having to pay extra for it now I just don't want to deal with it. That's why I asked (unanswered) if Abel Cine would sell the cases separately at some point.

I hope you will reconsider removing me from the group buy. I know you've designed a killer unit.

Ok after seeing the new pictures of the 2 options I have some questions. Might change my mind too.

What is the "actual" cost of the case again? I see where its a "donation" or helping the cause cost but not where its a 100% this is what it costs. Sorry if i am missing the actual number, very limited on time and cant go back to got thru all these posts again. Sorry and thanks.

And is the shipping with this case with the Exo inside "included" with our original buy or is that on top of this since things have changed?

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Here is the link to the online shop for the case:

Yes, shipping costs are the same with or without the case and you already paid for it. So it's really just about having the case right now or not.
The sizes are : 34"*22"*17" (for your comparision on online stores...). And our case includes specially cut foam, shipping costs and the safe shipment to your door. Now it's your call...

David Dvir, Rod Hartzog, Michael Jensen, provide banking infos to get your refund.

I really don't wish to be removed from this group buy that I have committed so long to. I never called you any names.. I was just stating that it would have been a lot nicer to see some remorse by Exhauss on this sudden and unexpected change. It's crummy to wake to up to an email that says I need to spend $2,000+ CAD for something I thought I was already getting.

Your case cost really isn't a bad price although I truly don't have those funds now which is frustrating as being a rental house it's something our clients expect/respect from us. If I had known from the get-go I would have tried to allocate the appropriate cash.

And while I didn't enjoy the manner in which the news was delivered it doesn't make a difference now..

Our rental house will certainly get a ton of traction for the Exo as it already has gone out and received positive reviews by our initial clients so far.

Hi Pierre, Please let me re-visit this issue. At no time have I called you any names. I made a comment that I am not proud of and I know these forums can get out of hand. Please accept my apology for my rash comment. This has been an emotional ride and if you look back at any post I have made, they have been kind and supportive of you. Had I known the RedUser buy comes with no customer service I would not have asked for information or complained for not getting it. I am very excited about your Exo so I hope you will accept my apology and not remove me from this group buy.

Ciao Pierre,

Yes of course I do understand you and it is the main reason for me posting, honor and integrity is something that not every one understands or appreciates, and distorts it at any given opportunity, they are few, very few, in fact just a hand full amongst thens of thousands that finding behind a computer disrupt this forum, and I have received plenty of personal attacks by them, I have suffered from it and learn from it, and went moved on... And I have had my good share of crisis because of this, cultural differences for any immigrant is a real life issue, ones that I have had to deal with since 89.

I respect you, and your final decision was and is yours to make, so if any one gets refunded here is to serve as a lesson to others that any one can refuse service at any time for any reason, RED is a big supporter of this and for very good reasons, so if you truly believe that this 3 need to be refunded, then I respect that.

The case btw is beautifully designed and I am pleased to see several fellow Reduser change their mind and go for it, this is not just a recognition of the good work put in by you and your team but also a smart decision in the protection and longevity of the gear!!

Hard case ordered. Wire done. Can't wait for this thing to hit the front door step. :-) The time it took me to go to the bank I guarantee was less time vested than trying to find another solution and save a few bucks, which really isn't saving money because TIME is money in this business and any other. I really can't imagine myself with a 6,000 piece of equipment banging around in a soft case with zero padded protection.

@Pierre
I’d be glade to chime in and pay for the Case! Please let me know if this is possible. I was next in the alternates’ line.

Hey, I could have used an Exo months ago but I'd rather wait to have it done right than to get it total beta condition. I understand the frustration people feel about the delays and case but at the same time this is a group buy for completely new tech. The price we're getting this for is 1/3 the current list price at Abel. Let that sink in and then add without the wait for non GB. With new tech on a production line you can't expect exact pricing 9 months before production. Too many variables at play. To ask an extra 500 for a case or a soft case for free is a steal. If you really think you're getting screwed take shipment and flip it for a tidy sum or do the right thing and bow out.

Anyway, I'll take the soft case and wait for Abel to stock the hard case (or someone else to make one) and have both.

Eitherway, thanks Pierre for making this a reality.
