  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Guys let me tell you that you will not be disappointed...this thing is amazing!... Now all we need is the little hook devices that Carey talked about for the ronin or other gimbals...

Sounds good Pierre!!

and to you guys/girls that already got it. Is will you post any test or video up in near future?

Just recieved the mail for the bag, perfect. Like Daniel said when the timetable will be release ?

Thanks !

Just received email.
I understand the situation, but it's not cool. A thing that supposed to be free with this group buy now costs 500e?
I don't think that you ordered the cases without knowing how much they will cost, because now it looks like the bill for the cases is some kind of news for you ..

We have now the product on stock in our warehouse.
So deliveries are now in our hands and up to us! What a joy after months of waiting for suppliers...

The waterproof top quality case price is 490€. Let us know if you want to buy it or if you go for the free softbag (see our email this morning).

So if the soft-bag is for free with the exo and I want to get the waterproof case, I buy the case and get the soft-bag together with exo deal for free. Is this true?

some kind of news for you.

What is an unpleasant surprise is the balance sheet after 9 months of huge spendings.
We never committed to offer that much for free at the beginning.

Yes, the softbag is for free, the IP67 case is an option.

To be fair, though I'm not with L'Aigle, I have said they were selling the unit to the groubyer without earning any money, only the prestige. No one trusted me.
The intial design wasn't the same economics as the new, size changed and so changed the case size. Considering the quality of the case, I'm not surprised.

But anyway people, there is a included carrying bag if I understand well.
Bags are cool for owner/operators anyway. And rental facilities would have build a case I guess. I am both, and both "cases" will be really welcome.

Thanks for the pictures Pierre, I was curious to see how it was fitted inside !

Well, I'd rather have the Hardcase, but I understand Pierre's position - and the softcase makes sense...

Couple of questions/thoughts... if we buy the hardcase, do we also get the softcase as well (ie 2 cases) and, in terms of delivery, is the hardcase option still within the groupbuy price?

No, Andy, it's one or the other.
But you can choose the softbag now and get it for free.
And buy the Hardcase later on, including shipping costs again (149€ for the USA, about 69€ for Europe, several hundreds for other destinations). So it's wise to go for the hardcase now and save on shipment.

Thanks for the clarification Pierre :)

I need to check out cashflow before making a choice, but I think I'm way down the list on delivery - so hopefully I get some breathing space.

How long do we have to choose?

Hehe just the otherday my college asked me when the exoskeleton I ordered last year were going to come. I told him the exoskeleton is ready but Im waiting for a hardcase and that its unbelievable we getting it for free. But Im not going to bitch about this Pierre. It will help no one. Im stoked you are finally ready for delivery and thankful you did not put all changes in a version 2 of the exoskeleton.

I wonder if it was really necessary to delay delivery for waiting for the hardcases?

You should post a picture of the unit inside of the soft case to make the decision easier. Im leaning towards the softcase at the moment. If the price for the hardcase had been 250€ instead it had been a no brainer.

Can we make the decision here or must I login to on your webbsite, or just send you a mail?

Via email please!

We'll make a picture with the exo in the softbag. The exo gets in its "thanksgiving turkey" folded mode (the fast trackers will understand what I mean...) and just packed in the bag.

I guess that means with the wings.. I mean the arms are folded down and hooked in the red locking thing at the hips of the vest.

I'm not sure where we are here....I sent an additional 300 Euro to be on the fast track with Pierre saying the hard case would ship for that fee later, now we have another 490 Euro on top of that?? Please clarify the cost.

I am disappointed to an absolute degree. I am unsure where to even begin. So I will list my thoughts in no significant order.

1.) This group buy was for a set of exo arms with hard case. We purchased a set of exo arms with hard case. Period.

2.) The cost of the case should come at no surprise whatsoever. Inferring that it came as such is not valid reason for this change.

3.) Bait and switch is also illegal. (referring to selling products less than cost line of email).

4.) Not so much as an apology for this change despite acknowledgement that it will cause a sh*tstorm. (An apology would have gone a long way, at least for me). But instead no f*cks given. #thuglife

5.) WTF.

6.) The popper path to the group buy was to cancel it (prior to taking order/funds) if goods could not be provided at agreed upon pricing. The onus is not on us to make that decision as we are not aware of costs/expenses. If the original price was for the original exo prototype than a time should have come long ago to inform us the group buy was not possible and would be terminated/renegotiated. Instead we proceeded thus resulting in this current bait and switch scenario.

7.) Our funds (also extremely hard earned) have been with Exhauss for several months. I would rather them be with me to help pay my bills but we were endlessly mislead on delivery times and now a case that no one (probably) will buy supposedly kept us all from using these systems for the last who knows how many weeks. Imagine if we had units a month ago and there were 80+ reviews online for it already..

8.) 500 euro for a case?! Seriously? I would have been more inclined to send a donation if such an idea were proposed earnestly and respectfully. I am a businessman and understand much of this process. Your costs are high and I am aware we are receiving a significant discount. However this is not the way to recoup costs. Simply put, you have (arguably) made some significant errors and rather than admit that and request support from this community you have ostracized us as a group and almost (by lack of apology) inferred we are to blame. The lack of respect to customers has greatly wounded my thoughts toward Exhauss. Not only that but I have also endured much anguish on a continued basis from this experience also culminating in an overall dissatisfied feeling towards the company. Despite such a wonderful product no less!

9.) Including a case was always on the table. As such, some portion of our funds must have been allocated to this. I do not want a soft case nor do I wish to pay an additional 1500 euro (I have ordered three of these units so 500 x 3). I imagine 200 euro would have been fair for the hard case and that such value was already included in the cost of my order. So I formally request reimbursement of 200 euro per unit (3 units) for a total of 600 euro. I will then buy a pelican 1660 cases with no custom cutout at a discounted rate from B&H who offer free shipping (in north america) and will provide a reduced rate on bulk order (others are welcome to join me).

10.) I received my fast track unit a few weeks ago. Truly a remarkable unit. Works extremely well and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have put together a video explaining how to adjust the arms orientation and some demonstration of the exo arm vs a mere human. In today's email you mention you are counting on us to provide great bts and support documentation to help this product succeed. I think we were all happy to do so but now I find myself asking why...? Why should I even post this now. Customer care is basically at zero from the company so why should customers return any more than that?

11.) I am now worried if I ever have to have my unit serviced the cost will be 12,000 euro.

12.) WTF

1. I agree, we should get what we are promised, or asked if we are willing to accept a different aggangement.

2. I apologize that this has come up, as the creator of the group buy.

3. The hard case is absolutely 100% unnecessary. The soft bag will be more than adequate for transport for this piece of gear. If the handles need to be removed for transport, I would never use it anyway. I agree, owner-ops would be fine without it, rental houses would need it.

4. I reccommend that everyone just accept the soft bag and let's quietly wrap this group buy up. I wouldn't worry too much about tech support as this is an established company.

I operate a production company/rental house. Hence why I've ordered 3 of these units. I agree that the current hard case looks undesirable since you must remove the handles but I have managed to fit the unit entirely into one of our other 1660 cases already. Otherwise I agree that the soft case is a better choice.
