  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

@alexandre Here are my quick point-form thoughts:

• Over-all, this is a game-changer product. This is the PERFECT compliment to a gimbal. That should be the context for reading the rest of my points... they are more reflections on how to make this great product even better.

• On Monday ran with a Red Dragon + Canon 50mm cine + Teradek 600 + Redrock FF (sometimes swapping to Rokinon CineDS). This was a fashion shoot where we shared the set & models with the photo team, so we could only roll for ~15 to 20 mins of each hour, and stopping during that time would certainly kill us. Our operator was able to film for the entire day (in those 20 minute sprints) without stopping. This was only possible thanks to the Exo.

• As I outlined in an earlier post, a basic user manual is needed. The letter enclosed in the package was confusing and the writing assumed prior knowledge of the equipment. You can figure it out, of course, but it shouldn't be this much work :)

• The black metal scratches rather easily, so we really need to get those cases it soon

• As Lee mentioned, an easy place to mount a battery plate would be amazing. I know I'm dreaming here, but BONUS POINTS for having p-tap power ports at the end of the arms!!! :)

• The resistance is super easy to adjust, but is better done with a second person while you wear the unit

• I found putting on the exo a little awkward, since the belt is rather stiff, so you have to kind of angle yourself into it, but it's SUPER easy to get on otherwise

• Out of the box, the exo worked well with the ronin + above Red setup, just with minor dialling of the adjustment knobs. I don't want to touch the other adjustment screws until I hear an answer to my question in this thread or receive an illustrated manual. I don't want to mess the wrong thing up!

• The exo was a real celebrity on our set - everyone was asking about it, made jokes about super villains, etc. Even the models and client wanted to try it on! haha

• I am impressed with the over-all build quality. I am a *little* concerned with the ratchet straps used to tighten the main belt, given my experience with snowboard bindings (they seem to be straight off a burton binding, haha), but they also seem like they would be easy to replace. A couple of other parts are plastic and might snap in time, but I'm not very worried. Seems to be very well built.

Still figuring out a few things like where to mount my V-mount but other than that I have it pretty dialed in. Well worth the wait and lucky to have done so in a group buy. Sorry in the delayed response, I've been busy.

Can't wait to se if you find a good spot for the v-mount. Do you use lemo or d-tap?

Hi Pierre! Thank you for making this system the best it can be!

Do you have any updates for delivery? Do you think i'll have delivery with travel case by July 5? Any updates would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,

Can't wait to see how my Dragon case, my Ronin case, and my L'Aigle case fits in my hatchback!!! Really looking forward to receiving this sometime soon.

Mine just came in. Can't wait to take this baby for a spin.

Merci, Pierre!

My assumption is Peter's order is a fast track. Pierre said as recently as last week that they aren't expecting the cases until June 10. Here's to hoping that's still the… *ahem* …case
