  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Hi Ivan - these are questions only Pierre himself can answer. I was merely pointing out that the engineers are hard at work on getting these in everyone's hands as soon as possible.

I can't speak to the communication because I have been in constant contact with Pierre, so I see no problem with communication. As soon as there is something to announce, I, or Pierre, will announce it.

I am spending the week testing the unit I received. Fine-tuning means doing extensive QC so everyone ends up with a consistent product.

Hopefully Pierre will chime in here and answer any questions that I have not been able to.

Thanks again for your participation and patience.

Okay, gotta go shoot something... don't want to miss magic hour.

OK Carey, post some damn pics!

No pics to post yet... No video yet. This is going to be a 1-2 week project. There's a learning curve. You have to master this just like any other rig. I need to learn it inside and out. There are several potential ways to use the Exo and I am getting the hang of what works and what doesn't. I'll keep you posted.

Dude, your not making star wars here..how about just unpacking pics, anything, throw us a bone, LOL.
Aloha

Nice to hear you have your exo and that you are mastering it down to its bones.

Once you do that I would personally like to see as a request of course, a similar move to the one Daniel posted a few months back using his Serene and Easyrig (no puppeteer there) with the Ronin. Its a shot that can be done in an average house so it wouldnt be difficult to simulate the transitions.I believe you are a steadicam operator as well, and owner of a system so it should be easy for you. That was a non rehearsal move,so its 1 take as Daniel did this on the fly just for a test.

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Carey - learning curve? wasnt this advertised as "put it on and it works" :)
no photos and videos for another 1-2 weeks. this sounds a bit fishy to me as like you never got the gear yet. it feels more like you are part of the marketing. I dont want to be rude but all this just confirms i did the right thing and not to go with this group buy. So far the dates have been missed by a lot and are pushing more and more forward. We didnt get a lot of photos or videos,...
I hate group buys like this and hyping the product that is not out yet,... like we seen in other topics like Tilta RemoteFF, Movi, Ronin,... where things were called the best out there, game changers and sometimes i get a feeling people organise this group buys just to get free gear them selfs,.. and then we wait for info and reviews,...
I will apologise in advance if i got it all wrong but this is just my personal feeling or intuition telling me and I hate this to be a regular thing on this forum as I think its a good community but might change to what Kickstarter became now - where big companies use it to get the money for development more then small companies trying to put good ideas to real products...
And I dont want to undermine this product or group buy as im still super interested in this product as i shoot a lot with ronin and movi and looking for the best solution out there.
I would love if you guys proved me wrong.
Cheers,
Uros

I must say, I don't necessarily care about the learning curve, I'd just like to see some detailed photos of what we are getting. You don't even need to be wearing it, I'd just like to see it. I don't understand why that's a big deal.

As a reminder, you will all get a proforma invoice on monday via email (check your spam folder).
The list will then be updated with “Paid”, as payments are confirmed.
As soon as “boarding” is complete, shipments will start. Hopefully last week of march.

I understand you are very impatient, your arms are tired and your back hurts!

But let’s try and keep this positive on the last few meters of that marathon (it was a marathon for us at least).
You can send your concerns about your own deposit or payment to Carey or me privately, if you please.

If you are not part of the GB and feel a itch to express in advance negativity, prejudice or doubts, please just refrain from doing so and wait for actual users to express themselves about the actual product. Thanks!

You guys want to see pics of me wearing the product? There are plenty of links to videos of that from BVE already.

My only concern is this: how well does this product work. I will be posting video of the shots I shoot, not videos of me shooting them.

I am in no way affiliated with L'Aigle, so any conspiracy theory is a joke. I'm just doing another group buy for you guys.

The product does require a learning curve... it's a new invention! I'm not even going to entertain the idea that I should just throw it on and shoot something without knowing its limitations and abilities, the best configuration for the shot, the best amount of assistance to add to the arms to get the most control... give me time to work this out please.

The list on page one is in order.

Thank you!

The list one page one is in the order the units will be shipped. I'm too busy to sit there and remove and renumber every one to make it perfect. Sorry, I have a lot of shooting and testing to do. The list is in order, that's what matters.

Constantine... I will add that shot to my shot list LOL... As soon as I get the location and actors locked down... I get your point. You want to know if I can go through hallways and doorways... I will be finding out all of this during my testing and posting results.

So far, I can tell you that the vest is very, very comfortable and that the product works as described. It removes the weight from your shoulders and arms, allowing you to shoot for longer without getting tired.

I have to go... lots of testing to do.

Carey how would you feel if you were buying a camera from someone and asked him to send you photos with a news paper next to it or some proof he really has it... and he would refuse a 2min work in the age of mobile phones with cameras on... :) i think this is what builds trust... and thats what we are asking for.
i know im not in the groupbuy but am interested from the begining (i was no17 on the list) but never made the payment due to my concerns with groupbuys and moving dates that is a trend now days here and on kickstarter,... but would order straight away when i see a good review and "on stock" mark. im not rich enough to give out loans to companies in advance. i need to earn money with the money i spent.
why i said you might be a part of marketing... is as you were promoting this thing as really good even tho you never seen it, tested it,... i know you were trying to make the groupbuy work and its your own time into this and I and others wouldnt have a problem if there was more info and photos along the way to assure its all good. now its all a bit hazy.
and yet again, prove me wrong and ill apologise again if i made false statements as i would love to be proven wrong and finally see this exo in the hands of users so i can get one too and shoot with it (if its as good as marketed)

Hey Carey not quite actually.

I want to know if you can go through doorways in sharp turns, and also do side moves at the same time in compo.

The reason I posted this is that , as Daniel said, its a typical steadicam move , but executed with other tools , in this case the Serene and Easyrig.

So demoing going straight through a door wouldnt cut it Iam afraid.
BTW did I say you can do it at home? you dont even have to have actors, Iam sure you can tell right?LOL Your other half is all you need.

regards

I never marketed this product. I simply stated facts: that it won 2014 most innovative product award etc. I was sold on the idea alone because I know how incredibly brutal it is to shoot with a gimbal for long periods with out some kind of rig.

Here's a pic of me wearing the rig, for conspiracy theorists... I don't see the point of looking at me wearing it. What's important is how well it works. I can only show that by showing you video that I shoot while wearing it, compared to the same shots taken without it.

Carey, Please don't further delay your reporting by dancing around with shot variations asked for by folks who aren't even in the group buy. The list could be endless and, with thorough testing based on your own shooting experience, we will be able to see what it can do and what it can't. There is already good video it there showing some of it's capabilities. No tool is perfect. No tool does everything. But, the Exo looks very promising and has many advantages over other methods.

Have fun. Looking forward to your report.

I was simply wanting to see some detailed pics of the arms, joints and connections on the vest, how the straps work on the Ronin, where someone may put a V-mount plate etc.....

There is nothing wrong with all of us being anxious to see better pics. We've honestly not been given much in the way of actual photos and still have committed to make the purchase. That's all I'm saying.

One of the things I'd like to see has nothing to do with its operation or effectiveness. How about showing us the process of putting it on? It was billed as a one man process. I'd like to see how it's done and just how easy it is.

Thanks.

I apologise again for my doubts but my intuition was telling me something was off and i was wrong. thanks for the photo and i hope to see a review as soon as possible as i am as we all are in a need of a gear that works with gimbals in the best way possible. again i apologise for my doubts.
