  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

If a person has worked in a manufacturing and design environment, they would appreciate the hurtles this company is facing to bring this product to market in such a compressed timeframe. Frankly, it's a timeline that would drive a lot of employees in such a business nuts. Plus after al the effort at the main company is expended, everything has to go right at their suppliers, which never happens.

Carey - have you updated the main list today? I mention as I paid this afternoon (sent you a PM) and don't seem to be listed. Also wondering how many the GB will end up at and what the discount levels will be (will it drop back to previous tiers?).

I'll be updating the list every few days... as Pierre sends me confirmations.

Not sure how many we'll end up with, but as said, if anyone has any time to send PM's to those who haven't paid yet, that would be beneficial for all involved. I would, but my hands are just too full right now juggling several projects.

If the total GB number falls between 60-84, the discount for the GB isn't really significant compared to L'Aigle's regular pre-order price of 2,215€ Before Dec 31st.

Yup, that was one of the reasons I asked.... guess we'll have to await clarification... you'd hope the GB price would be cheaper than the regular pre-order.

I haven't paid my deposit yet as I really want to see product first. I feel a bit edgy after the BS4 deal went as it has and want to see a tangible product that is ready to ship before i put more cash in the pot and no hassle with refunds and back and forth. Will there be images before the cut off of payment? Thank you

I am sure Carey will respond, but in the mean time, my two cents.

Unlike BeSteady, L'Aigle has been in business for 11 years, producing products much like the one we are purchasing. They are a successful, going concern. Prototypes at a couple of different levels of development have been shown working. Carey has been in very close touch with Pierre at L'Aigle and the development seems to be moving very well.

All that said, you still have the option to get a refund on your deposit after seeing the photos of the working unit and, you will have two weeks to return the product for a refund AFTER you take delivery, if you are not satisfied. Not a whole lot of risk involved.

I have contacted Loic Parent on the 17th, he paid the deposit.

I paid for the deposit on the 17th, thanks for the reminder Bérenger!
also want to say that i tried the proto on the SATIS show and it was very effective, kind of magical not to feel to weight on your arms.
on the down side the vest was not very confortable but i think it was not really adjusted to my size.

I have requested pics from Pierre. He has made this very clear: the final version will work just like the prototype only it will be slimmer, sleeker, more streamlined and precision engineered.

In other words, if you're sold on the video of the prototype on page one of this thread, then you might want to jump in and pay your refundable deposit because the final production model will be the same... only better.

You have to buy into the concept of this Exoskeleton being an essential piece of your kit. If you have a gimbal, it's essential. You can debate this, but eventually you'll end up buying one to go with your gimbal. You can buy in now, and because we are buying as a group, you can save money... or you can wait until they are available to the public and spend more money. It's up to you.

As far as the group buy price VS the pre-order price on the L'Aigle site... there is NO WAY the pre-order price is going to be less than our group buy price. You will all be rewarded for coming together as a group and essentially making a bulk purchase.

I'm still requesting pics from Pierre of the final unit and will post them the moment I get them. I can't do a single thing more than that.

After using the MōVI M12 with no support, I am 100% sold on this product... and we are getting an incredible bargain. I won't be using my gimbal without it because the kind of meticulously framed and choreographed shots I want to get cannot be executed without it.

ooops,

are we already at deposit?

I will get to it this upcoming week!
