Hi David

Thanks again

Any discussion on a GB discount extending to their Par Beam adapters?

Regards

Michael

The K-BEAM products are listed in the 240 rows of the spreadsheet, so I believe they are covered by the discount. They are not cheap, which means the discount is very substantial.

Thats a question i'll be sure to look into. But just to put it out there, anyone else interested in the fixtures as well?

Hi Davide!

Is there any US vendor/support?

Thank you very much

Great question Nick and thanks for spelling my name the way it is on my birth certificate!

I'll check to see that, but they are pretty maintenance free. The fixtures probably have some US support, but I will double check.

I think Nic, might have asked me for the kit pics. Here is what you get (including case) for the TT kit.

Price is very fair. The hardware is robust.

Here are a few pics of the KIT, iPhone 5 is in there as a size reference.

....KFlect offers also TT K-Flectors – TT is the abbreviation for Table Top *for very specific product shot applications, etc – in the following 7 sizes: 5x5, 5x10, 5x15, 5x20, 10x10, 10x20 and 30x30 cm.....

David,

1) Do you suppose it makes sense to order the larger 30x30cm size,
and mask down to smaller size and shape when necessary?

2) Are there certain reflector surfaces worth doubling, tripling, quadrupling up on?

Hey Billy,

I'm not sure how the masking would work and how well it would work. Maybe it would just be better to use a corner of the reflector rather than mask it. Like if you only let the light hit a corner of the beam you can reflect a smaller beam of light, rather than going to the trouble of masking.

On the double ups I would say number nine was emerging as a favorite. 1 and 2 are fairly hard square sources. Then there are some softer sources as well. One thing I wanted to encourage was that they print a small visual reference on the back of the panel along with the color code and the number. But it would also be nice to look at the back of the panel and see a spot or soft gradient or a slash, before you pull it out of the case. It probably won't take me long to get used to the number and color system.

I'll look at my tests again.

Some are soft, some give a nice wrap around light, some give a nice soft oval pattern you might want to use when you have two actors looking at each other in frame as it puts zero light on the top or bottom keeping things off the background.

I mean, the one that cuts a slash just cuts a slash, no barn doors no nothing, just reflects a slash and you rotate the panel the way you would turn barn doors.

Yes..interested...but possibly if the K-BEAM had an even better discount rate alot more people might be interested in them...

David, Thank you for your replies so far.

Any chance you can show what these reflectors can do with an overcast/backlit day,
or do the reflectors require a strong beam of light?

The reflection rate is between 75-94 percent depending on the reflector. So, if a mirror has no effect on the scene, neither will this system.

I looked into this.

A few important notes. The discount can only come on the Kbeam reflector part of the system itself, not the fixture as those costs are sorta "fixed". Can't discount the other parts that make up the KBeam but the reflector can be discounted.

But the list starts here.

Ten people are interested K-beams there would be a 20% on K Beams as well. So far, to help the Reduser community over 240 products are being offered at 20% off.
To get the 20% there has to be 10 people interested in K-Beams.

Who is in?

3 in at this point...
