  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Ghost Eye Wireless Video Systems

I'm down for a 500M - are you saying the fans should be quieter on that than in the videos Berenger posted?

Don't the MP versions have *less* range and so should need less cooling? 600MP says it has 300ft. 600M says it has 600ft....

Any clarification on which units are more or less noisy than others?

Hello Tom,

Between the 500M and the 600MP you will find they are about the same in terms of fan noise. That being said we now have a firmware update that can make it so that, like the transmitter, you can turn the fan off and on on the receiver. This is done at your own risk and if internal damange is caused due to over heating that will not be covered under the warrarnty. That being said, the unit gives you a temp read out and as long as you keep it below 58 you should be good to go.

Hey Nathan,

Got my 500M and it works great.

Fan noise on the RXs is virtually non-existent but the TX fan is louder than I'd like.

What's the process for turning off the fan? Chris mentioned plus and minus buttons but the 500M only has CH and OK buttons.

"Yes you would get the 600MP kit and use your 150M reciever as a secondary receiver. What I mean by the reciever needing to be off set is that you may have the 600MP kit on channel 1 and the 150M reciever on channel 2, and we can help you to determine which channels will work best."

Hey Nathan. Looks like I need help. I went thru all the channels on the 600MP transmitter and it isnt communicating with the 150 receiver. Is there a list of frequencies that you could share that may help. ? Thanks.

EDIT - Customer service responded immediately - good to go - Thanks.

If the firmware is available, I would be glad to have it.

Could you do in the future a firmware update that detects SDI REC and turns off the fan on its own ? Like ON / HALF / REC / OFF ?

Checking for you since I don't have the 500M.

They now have USA customer service, which is far superior to what they had before. Glad you got taken care of...I was traveling all last week.

Email Cinegears and they'll take care of sending you the firmware. I'd love for them to have that incorporated as well into their units...but that may not be possible. I'll try pushing to see how far we can go!

Hey everyone. I wanted to post a revision of a previous statement I made. I stated that all Ghost-Eye models have the ability to have the fans manually turned off and on. This is incorrect, only a select number of models have that ability. The models that DO NOT have that ability are:

Ghost-Eye 200M
Ghost-Eye 400M
Ghost-Eye 500M

I apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused some of you. Send me a direct message or email if you have questions.
