  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Ghost Eye Wireless Video Systems

Hello all,

The fan on the Ghost-Eye units can be turned off on the transmitters at the customers own risk. The units will give a read out of the internal temp and that should not exceed 58. However, if you feel that your fan is overly loud we will take the unit in for repair of the fan as they should not be excessivly loud. Please also note that for the longevity of the product we do not recommend keeping the fan off for extended periods of time as it could cause internal heat issues.

At this time there is no way to turn the fan off on the receiver but you can send it in for repair if you feel the fan is too loud. With this type of technology and the power consumption and output from these units there will always be a need for some cooling system to ensure the internal components are protected.

Well, it doesn't need to be repaired. I have 2 transmitters and 3 receivers with me, and the three receivers share the exact same noise, same for transmitters.
Is it something that can be updated in firmware in the next release ? How can I check ?

It's not a problem for large monitors, I can hide the receivers in a case, but
for my handeld focus setup, it's just not usable at all with sound.

The receiver is noisier than my Scarlet-W, so it's kind of annoying.

I'm glad I haven't sold my paralinx for those job, as I have to keep the 600MP, now that I sleeved into my setup (damn battery plate).

You can adjust the fan speed of the transmitters by holding the + and - for 3 seconds, and even turn off the fan completely (transmitter only), though it's not advised to operate for extending periods of time with the fan completely off. Cinegears did testing well above internal temps of 90 degrees, and had zero issues, but again, could potentially shorten the shelf life of the electronics running it that hot all the time.

Maybe the 150M would be a better bet for you, since it doesn't even have a fan? The extended range units do have fans just due to the fact of the signal amplification going on in a small device. I use the 1000M. The transmitter has a fan, but isn't really loud at all, and there receiver is dead quiet. The 600M units are quit as well. The MP's are the ones that are a tad louder given the signal boost.

They want to resolve your unhappiness...so just let Cinegears know if you'd like to return the unit, or maybe swap it for a smaller ranged unit?

Hello,

Yes we can firmware update it so that you can turn the fan off manually if you need to. You would need to send in your units via the RMA form on our website for that firmware upgrade but it can be done.

Ok, thanks for that. I will send 2 receivers back for an custom update. I'm ok about the transmitter as I can turn it off.

The second kit I have I have to return to the reseller.

EDIT: For everyone to turn off the fan keep - and + pushed for 3 seconds.

Last day for the group buy everyone! If you haven't purhcased already make sure you do it by today!

I didn‘t get an order confirmation or something....just want to be sure that i‘m on the list (500M).
Can someone confirm?! Thanks in advance, Daniel

Didn’t get a confirmation too... I want 600MP with a additional receiver. Thanks!!

Missed out. Was waiting on the outcome of the fan issue. But happy with my 150. Thanks Chris for doing all these great group buys.

I haven't received confirmation and didn't see my name on the list.
Can we have an update, or DM confirmation?

Wait, so what is the fan issue?

Someone said fan on transmitter was louder than on Scarlet-W?? That's going to be a deal-breaker for me, I think.

The receiver is louder than a adaptative-quiet Scarlet-W. Not the transmitter.

I'm down for a 500M - are you saying the fans should be quieter on that than in the videos Berenger posted?

Don't the MP versions have *less* range and so should need less cooling? 600MP says it has 300ft. 600M says it has 600ft....
