  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Ergorig and Undersling!

Do you have any walking shot ?
I'm considering it as a new tool. That's all.

You are correct about the hip movements and the weight of cameras. Anything over 25 pounds should not be used for hand held. I have had an ergorig since august and used it on every hand held project. I will use it 80-90% of the time I do hh, but for a critical walking shot for cinema fex., it shakes the camera too much for my taste, because of the hip movements.

Those heavy cameras should be prohibited to be put on a shoulder of an operator.
It's abuse.
More than 10kg is a no go (and there is no need to be as big).
(Nothing against Ergorig entended in my post).

Yes, you mentioned that a few times already in this thread. Move along pls.

I've spent my entire career(over 22 years, now) running around with 25lb+ ENG cameras on my shoulder and if it's well balanced(like an ENG camera), it's not a big problem, generally. Honestly, ~25lb ENG cameras are my favorite to shoot with, because they are perfectly balanced on the shoulder with everything exactly where it needs to be to "just get out of your way and let you shoot". The problems start to arise when you get into ridiculously long periods of time/takes with it on your shoulder(20+ mins), "bad" angles like shooting up for extended periods and poorly balanced cameras.
