Ignite Digi are making a new Dovetail Clamp designed for Red DSMC2 cameras.
The rod clamps can be attached to either end making it reversible - so if you prefer the release on the left or right - you can choose.
The normal price is $715 Australian Dollars but if we can order 10 or more it will be $640 Australian Dollars which is around $464 US or $447 Euro (please note Australian buyers will need to add 10% GST).
Shipping cost will vary between $30-$80 AU, depending where you are.
It will come with all mounting hardware, so M4 ratchet nuts for mounting the rods, 1/4-20 screws for mounting the rod mount to the dovetail plate, and captive 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 bolts for attaching the camera, parts will all be hard anodised black as standard, other colours are available if you want (red, blue, green and orange) no extra charge for the different colour, just need to specify at the time of ordering.
Designed and made by Chris Fox of Ignite Digi

Nice and compact but pretty pricey. Would be nice to see a finished version to ensure riser measurements etc are spot on. Had this issue a few times in the past.

Hi Ben
I am very confident that Ignite Digi will get bit spot on. They are a small company that rely on a good reputation and word of mouth orders. They are already manufacturing accessories for Arri Mini and RED DSMC 1 cameras with no problems. When (or if ever) I get my Raven, I will post some pictures.

I've gone through so many of these.

IMHO looks a bit too tall, too expensive. Not sure what this is offering that you can't get elsewhere.

Probably the best potential i've seen (and have) is the Tilta Red base plate, it is light, compact has the rod clamps at the front and has a dove tail under (it's probably less than half the height of this one). The only issue with the tilta is that only their lightweight dovetail will fit and they *only* do a 10inch version of that. So because of that it's limited use.

Wooden Camera has no dovetail on, they did a version for the previous bodies but not DSMC2, instead that's just got a base plate with no dovetail.

So actually i've just gone back to slapping a manfrotto plate under, the small rig version allows you to add rod clamps to the front. It's about as lightweight as you can get and manfrotto plates and quick release plates are in abundance.

But instead of the above you could just get a small rig base and pop a dovetail under that - it would end up about the same height.

Now if they could reduce the vertical height and ensure the rear part could have rods on too that might be more interesting

cheers
Paul

I very much hope so, but I have bought about 6 of these from small companies over the years and none of them have gotten it right so far so definitely would hold off until people have it in their hand.

At the moment the Smallrig DSMC2 baseplate plus dovetail adapter will cost about £120 for both parts and I know it works so will have that to be going along with one my Scarlet-W arrives.

Look forward to seeing this.
