Members who got Laing M-02, got set of different springs, including ones designed for lighter loads.

Incorrect, I did not received any extra spring set with my Laing M-02.

I mean my forum members here :-) If you want to get extra springs, send me PM. As for group buy we'll be discussing and deciding it.

Vitaly, will the new springs be strong enough for a Red One?

Tiffen, like most major equipment manufacturers with distribution networks, will not sell directly below list price. This is due to their distributor agreements. If you want t a discount, find a distributor who is willing to negotiate a discount off of list. In the US, I'd suggest Showcase Atlanta.

I thought about it, but then didn't wrote them a mail. I think the resell price of Tiffen products is too high, so they would destroy their own market. They are already the market leader, producing their units is high quantities, so they can't really justify a price drop due to larger ordering volumes. My guess is that the discount wouldn't go above 15%. What I did was contacting a Steadicam dealer, who is also producing steadicams (Betz Tools), asking about a custom unit or a special price for the Zephyr, but never heard from them again.

But I could write them a mail. Maybe they are interested.

Laing/Came Group Buy 5D ok?

Laing/Came Group Buy 5D ok?

I'd like to get in on the group buy, but I got a bit lost in the nature of the purchase.
Anybody know if the version you're all going for will handle (or be too firm for) a 5Dmiii and a 7.7 oled monitor?
I'd like to run an hdmi cable (large on both ends), and perhaps a dionic d tap cable through the post.

Do you think the model you guys are requesting will work with my needs (i.e. non Red at this time)?

Thank you.
John

I'll speak for Laing. It must be suitable for your camera and monitor. Laing will also provide separate springs for lighter load (instead of very popular here 9-15Kg rigs), that can be useful for you.

Yes all the models we discuss will support that kind of setup. You find more information on the Laing and which cables will fit (HDMI will fit) in this thread.

Cheers

is it still possible to get in on this deal? I sent you a pm go get the info for your blog so I can see the price thats being discussed. thx. -m

i'm still waiting to see what Laing has to offer for their latest model. Vitaliy mentioned it would be a few days until there is anything new to announce.

I am sorry for some detail with information.

I'll post it as soon as it'll be ready.

I still find it funny that this many people are still interested in buying a rig that has produced absolutely NO footage that is actually steady.

I also find it fun how guys who have income from renting their Steadicam sets make such comments :-)

May I ask what the status is on the Laing CAME buy? The blog created by by the threads creator indicates his work is done and everyone is waiting on their units to arrive in 45 days? I am still awaiting the latest info on the RED modifications to the CAME unit...

Thanks,

PC Greene

i wonder how much people actually ordered the prolline.
any chance to install a simple counter on the proline/reduser page?
just for us to see, how far we are away from the 40+ target ?

norbert
