yes the vest is from the same dealer as flycam with some change in the socket, that vest is really strong confortable and good price and can handle an arri 535, lite red one alexa.
FlyCam is not dealer, they are Indian manufacturer. So it is correctly day that you offer FlyCam vest in your package.

yes the indian's bought me 1 gear a year and a half ago and copy the sled almost same topstage monitor and battery bracket as our last model

And this looks pretty strange. As you use their vest rebranded under your brand name and I don't see any ProLine capacity to manufacture sleds.

I can see that you are making custom arm using parts made on CNC machine. As you say that you also fully make sled yourself, can you make small video of manufacturing area?

Also it'll be interesting to know some of your prior buyers.

This ProLine rig seems pretty sweet. Curious to see what Liang comes back with. Any news on when and where the LA demo is the weekend of the 16-17?

There will be a side by side test of the Laing and the ProLine T2000 this saturday the 9th in LA at ProLine. Please contact nickmilo or david_winters for any details.

Luciano and Vitaliy, while I think that it's great to have both of you, a manufacturer of ProLine and a representative of Laing, here on the Forum, I would prefer if the discussion would stay on the technical qualities of the units, and not where they were produced or which one was sold more often. While those are also interesting information, they don't belong in this discussion.

Of course it would be great if you could post reviews and behind the scenes clips to your products.

Ferrari sale less quantity than other brands right?? my goal is not sale 2000 cheap arms a year, I like quality

Do not know how it is related to my simple questions. Everyone loves quality.

But last time I checked it is group buy venture, hence it is important know your capacity (so you'll be able to ship items on time).
And also ask prior buyers, if they exist.

This could be cool. It is interesting to see how ProLine arm and FlyCam parts behave.

Discussion is exactly on point, as every buyer has full right to understand who is manufacturer of items they purchase.
Also no one here discussed who sold more, it is irrelevant, I asked for information about prior ProLine buyers so we could contact and ask them, as we already had Laing buyers here.
Nothing wrong with it.

Vitaly other question have you ever used a steadicam before??? are you an operator??? or you just live in front of the computer???
I gonna buy your gear for my son so he can play( he is 3) so add me to the buy group

How it is related to my previous questions? Or if you do not like em you prefer to go into personal attack mode?

I used steadicams, do not worry :-) But am not professional steadicam operator. And leave your inaproppriate computer remark to yourself.

Hello Luciano Reverberi,

I need just an information: since i live in EU (Italy), do you have a way to send your system direct from an EU State?
Shipping costs and custom (especially custom here in Italy) can really make the difference, and a steadycam system from U.S.A. should be much more expensive as it is.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Jean

Guys, let us do the fighting. Just deliver the facts as ammunition for our discussion

Anyway, Vitaliy, I do think that we should get all the information about the manufacturer. Could you maybe post some summary on who Laing (and for that matter Came) is and who of the both the manufacturer is? Could you also explain how you got involved with both companies and if you have any financial interest in them? Also, you shouldn't say that "we", which would include you, could contact former buyers of the ProLine rig, since you have of course an interest in selling the Laing rig. Of course you could suggest that we, the members of this group buy, consider asking them.

Luciano, maybe you could do the same. Just a short summary of who you are, what your background is and where you produce the rigs?

I'll ask L'aigle to do the same.

Cheers
David

David, are you moderator here? As you constantly make direct orders that, somehow, we must do :-)

And we do not have fighting here, except one sudden, and I am sure, emotional, remark.

In fact, it is very big plus of competitive situation.

ProLine makes interesting arm, that is using old known three springs design. And I hope that testing and discussion will be more focused on this original item.

All other we already have in topics, so nothing to talk much about. CAME is OEM brand of one of Laing dealers. It is common business practice.

David is one of the main reasons we have this group buy to argue about:). He may not be a moderator but on this thread, he's close. Let's settle down and wait for the reviews coming this weekend. May the best stabilizer win.

Yep, David is the man! He has acted with objectivity, discernment, patience and integrity from post 1. He organized this thread and has put a tremendous amount of effort and time into it that he will not be compensated for.

I have no problem with him giving direction on this thread and feel sure most everyone else will agree.

All the best,
lael

Hmm. In this case we have misunderstanding who is moderator. But you are fully right and David is doing amazing work. Very useful to community here.

Anyway, some things could be improved to make things more clear.

Right now I see quite messed doubling topics with misleading titles and crossposting.

We need topics that are clearly separated - one for cheap rigs below $2500 (Laing only now) , one about ProLine arm + FlyCam 7300 rig and L'Aigle rig options that are quite above.

Btw, both are mostly here - one in current topic and another is voting topic that is only about ProLine-FlyCam 7300 and L'Aigle rigs.

And big topics can be more about tests and common opinions. We just need to make titles better to make them more clear.

There is much info over several threads.

1. I think David asked a fair question of Vitaliy: "Could you also explain how you got involved with both companies and if you have any financial interest in them?" No response, though. We understand Vitaliy represents Laing/Came for the group buy, but not whether he is compensated in any fashion for it. Reduced cost or free rig for him? Share of each sale to him? Something else? No reason to hide this; just puts things in perspective. If he's not honest about this, then why expect honesty in the transaction as a whole?

2. When Steven Moreno raised a concern based on his experience with a Laing rig, it was instantly already solved. Has anyone actually obtained a Laing/Came without this problem? I thought Steven bought his rig recently. Also raises questions about actual strength of the arm. Testing in the future, I understand.

"but I have a Laing rig and I think the biggest problem that I have with it is that it's difficult to completely lock down the camera on the stage....when I turn the sled horizontal to get optimum drop time, the sled will move slightly and when I go vertical again, it's no longer balanced. I have to crank the knob that locks the dovetail to the stage with an allen wrench and it still is iffy. Also, I feel like the Scarlet's weight really pushes the limits of the arm, and the arm sags under it. It flys, but it flys a little low. "

"This issue is fixed and not happens on any currently manufactured models. But your case must be also carefully examined and solution fixing issue must be found."

3. Will there be the chance to test the Laing rig with the mods/corrections to verify before the group buy?

4. David Winter has modified his Laing to correct the issues he's identified so far, but mods have more than doubled his original purchase price. Also, he had the skills to do these mods that most would not. If a modified Laing is on the horizon, David Winter's (and Charles Papert's) input would be helpful.

I would also like to know your financial interests in the deal. Full disclosure is appreciated.

I already commented on this.
Consider this like I had been hired by manufacturer to make sure all things go smooth and make sure that all information will be collected and implemented in metal properly.
I have no authority to talk more about internals of this, sorry.
I specially underlined in first message here that I am not independent and represent Laing. This is all I have to say.

Proline/Laing Group Meet/Test -- in OC:

3:00, this Saturday 2/9 in Irvine.

Two rigs will be there:
Laing/Scarlet: David Winters setup
Proline/Red1: Proline will bring their setup, and we’ll mount my R1 on there, and try a light and a heavy config...

I’ll be filming the whole thing, being sure to capture and compare a lot of the things brought up in the thread. If any RedUsers had any specific requests/tests or things to document on the rigs, please let me know (either on this thread or via PM) and I’ll be sure to cover it…

And if you’d like to attend, please shoot me or david_winters a PM and I’ll get back to you with some more specifics :D
