  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How so?...the sled looks more like old steadicam flyer where the
battery and monitor are on the same plane. Whereas Zephyr has independent up and
down movement of monitor on rods which I beleve makes it little easier to adjust balance.

Kind of same difference here between the Floatcam Pro FC14 and the Pro FC12 sled

It's a pretty easy mod. One afternoon with a mill and it's done. But it would be nice if the system we end up buying would have it already as a feature.

hey guys, I believe David Kellermann and myself are currently talking to floatcam about getting a good group rate..

they seem to have a pretty nice set up, and while i dont think it will be 1200...

it will be a more "legit" system for those who have a little bit more cash.

take a look at them.. we should have a group price with in the next couple days

Hey guys. We ordered one of these. Good experience. Thank you to David Kellermann for tipping us off to this steadycam rig. Obviously the price was one incentive, but other info we gleaned across the web made this look like a good buy -- and it is. Very happy with our purchase.

We ordered from this website on February 1st:
http://www.camera-video-broadcast.c...am-Stabilizer-Steadycam-Carbon-Fiber_141.html

Paid $1,600 via PayPal. No email confirmations received other than a PayPal notification of payment sent.

On February 6th, we received a FedEx tracking number via email. This is the tracking detail:

You can see it was shipping on Feb-4 (just 3 days after ordering) and received on the 8th.

Package arrived in a light-weight wooden crate. Inside was a perfectly kept cardboard box containing a black nylon bag. Great carrying case. Inside of the bag were all of the components, individually wrapped in plastic with cushioned dividers. Photos below.

Great build quality, very nice components, does not feel the least bit cheap/discount/value at all. It's an excellent rig. I have a steadycam operator with multiple years experience working with it tonight and tomorrow. His first report back; "Great buy. Very impressed so far. Shocked actually." It took him about 30-40 minutes to balance the thing and work out the threading, etc. He's using a Marshall monitor, Epic, and Nikon glass.

I am personally not a steadycam rig operator, but I have hired a few in the past and I've seen a number of rigs. I can definitely say, from that experience, from what I handled today, and from the actual steadycam op I've got running for me tonight -- this is a great purchase at a remarkably cheap price. The rest is up to experience. Happy shooting.

Rob do you know if it can manage a R1 and 18-50 RPZ?
It clocks in under the weight limit (32 pounds), but I'd assume you need it to be professionally balanced to get a good result. Steadycam pros should have no problem with this but I wouldn't expect to strap on and run without the know-how first.

This rig is solid. Hearing and seeing only good things about it all day.

Hi Rob, Can you put more pics of the product. Can it go for low mode also?

Update #7: eemov sent me their offer. The floatcam offer should arrive today or tomorrow. eemov asked to not openly discuss the price, so I'll send a pm to everyone on the list of interested buyers with the offers. If you haven't received a pm until Friday night, please contact me. The MOVcam offer should arrive after the 18th, since it's still Chinese New Year holiday.

+1

Please add me to the list, based in the UK.

Thanks
