Hi All!

I am Glad to relate that this is the official Group BUY (GB) thread for the BRIGHT TANGERINE REVOLVR Follow Focus.

Thank you'll, for your enthusiastic responses to the culmination of this Group Buy (GB).

Due to the number of requests from Participants on the Interest GB thread, for an extension of the window to complete purchases, under this GB, BRIGHT TANGERINE has agreed to grant all participants a final extension of the Group Bu for Revlovr, as noted above, until 10 July, 2016!

This GB is CLOSED. Only those participants on the GB Interest thread, who have posted interest in the GB and not rescinded their interest may participate in the actual GB.

The Interest thread is closed, but available on RU for reference.

Please see below some bullet points, regarding Revolvr. N.B. not all of the points pertain to the ATOM and the ATOM is not part of this GB.

-extremely low backlash through high precision build
-backlash is adjustable through easily accessible allan key screw

-gears interchangeable with Arri gear standards (including Oconnor Friction Driver)
-BT accessories provide Arri standard coupling with special BT Zero backlash coupling
-3rd party accessories with Arri standard (flexible shaft, focus levers etc.) are directly attachable to the main unit and handwheel by build in coupling (DIRECT DRIVE)

-2 handwheels available, both work with REVOLVR and REVOLVR Atom
-both handwheels provide adjustable Hard Stops, Hard Stops disengaged make for Soft Stops, that give haptical feedback to fingers about chosen position

-design of all components designed for glove operation to 100%
-reverse gear option available
-conical shaped handwheels assure more ergonomic, tighter and better grip

-main bridge provides a narrow build of 18mm wide
-Swing-Arm is mountable on both sides of gear box
-Gear is mountable on both sides of the Swing-Arm
-narrow build, adjustable Swing-Arm and adjustable gear position combined make for superior space management, and adaptability to more lenses, especially old rehoused lenses
-Swing Arms of REVOLVR and REVOLVR Atom are interchangable

REVOLVR Swing-Arm provides 1:1,842 ratio for Cine Lenses,
REVOLVR Atom Swing-Arm provides lower 1:1 ratio for still lenses

In approximately one month, BT will announce the particulars of "ATOM," which is NOT part of this GB. There will be another GB for ATOM, following that announcement.

The following post shall provide information for purchase directions, for this GB.

Hi all,
So its official! Thanks to all the moderators and individuals involved for making this happen.

Welcome to the BT Revolvr Group buy. Thank you so much for your patience.

As I announced in the last thread, here's what to do to make sure you secure your Revolvr.

Another reminder – discount pricing will based on a tier system, with 10% off for the first 10, with an increase to 20% if numbers exceed 20 plus. So as I mentioned before, the more buyers from the original GB list, the better the discount.

Just check-out on our website before 10th July and use coupon code REVOLVRGROUPBUY1
We will validate those names from the GB list.

If you would like to purchase the Revolvr from one of your favorite resellers, please email
rob@brighttangerine.com and we will deal with your request on an individual basis.

Again, thank you so much for your patience & ongoing support. Enjoy!

Cheers, Joe

I heard at NAB that the Atom may lose some features (like the Nikon flip-around, which was a bit critical to me)... So we won't get final word on the features of the Atom until after this GB closes? That's kind of a bummer.

EDIT: I originally asked for the price, but realized I'm an idiot. I didn't clink the link to the kits on the website. So I ended up on the info page.

I'm not sure why there wouldn't be a flip around since the primary difference is only that it's one sided. But if that's a deal breaker, you might as well go for the single sided in this group buy, you won't get it cheaper after, this that's for sure. :)

BT confirmed to me on june 27 that there will be a reverse gear for Nikon lenses (see post #557 in former thread). I mailed several questions on Atom. This was (part of) their reply:

"...
- NIKON lenses: The Revolvr Atom Mini Kit (B2010.0001) comes equipped with the small handwheel and the low 1:1 ratio swing arm. In combination with our reverse gear you can pull focus on your Nikon lenses like you would with any other lens, and the ratio makes for a cinevised overall feel of the whole unit.
- Upside Down: Revolvr and Revolvr Atom both are able to be used upside down if necessary.

...

In case you ever want to convert the Revolvr Atom to a cine ratio, you can always change the handwheel and the Swing Arm to the Revolvr version and have the same ratio as a cine follow focus (1:1,842)."

I do remember them mentioning this on the NAB floor, but I'd really like to see it first. If it's mounted on your rail (like the Duclo's reversing gear), I'd probably pass. But if it somehow clamps on the gear arm (like on the opposite side, with a gear that meshes with the original gear), so it operates as a single functional unit, then that might win me over!

Thank You for the reminder Nick,
I will be participating in the group buy when Atom unit is ready later this summer.

Jeff

Thanks for the reminder Nick...still on for purchasing the Revolvr when it becomes available. Jonathan Partridge

It's finally going to ship! Can't believe I had patience for two years hahaha

Anybody know when this is going to ship? I thought early September but I haven't heard anything yet.

I asked BT about Atom last week. The GB for Atom is planned to begin some time after the Revolvr has started shipping (which will be in october). They also said that when your name is on the list, you will be notified about it.

Anyone heard anything new on order statuses? (I ordered at the end of June)

In July, I was told end of September by Rob @ BT. I followed up in September and again yesterday but, so far, radio silence.
