Hi,
Looking for some help with what went wrong on outdoor footage we shot at a park a couple of days ago. It was a sunny day with wide open space. Two Epic cameras had similar appearing footage, though one camera was worse then the other. All the footage later in the day had greenish tint. Able to correct it most of it by setting color temp of 8500 and magenta of 17. But that is a lot of color correction for a day shot in the sun. The hue was present on both the ND filtered and non filtered footage. Worse on ND footage. Used Schneider Platinum IRND filters.

The footage seemed to worsen as the day went on. In the morning we did full camera restore and black balance. Midday we redid black balance for both cameras with no great improvement. Operating temp was right at 50C. Was the camera sensor too hot and this caused the shift? We black balanced at that operating temp midday which didn't give us much improvement.

Never had this problem before. It was the first time we were shooting on the Firmware v4.0.18. But also, I never have shot outside that long either.

Thanks for your feedback
Todd

We had this happen on a shoot the other day, there was a button that got pushed on the camera that caused it, no idea which one. We had to reset the camera settings and all was fixed.

Yes this has happened before when someone accidently pushed the white balance button. The WB is reset by system restore. We did system restore multiple times with no real effect on hue. Hue seemed better when cammera was cooler.

When you go into RCX do you see any values out of the ordinary?

Sometimes the tint gets stuck in weird places, usually due to hitting the auto white balance button by accident. If you hold down the color temp control it switches to tint and you can reset it.

Tint Settings were 0
I think it is the filter. It color corrects well. I am just not used to using so much correction.

Used Schneider Platinum IRND filters

They are supposed to be Red Epic Compatible.
