Just wanted to give a big shout out to the developing team of RedCine X. This program from the start has been world class in capability and it continues to grow, now featuring audio. The interface is wonderful, the adaptations on direct user feedback is tremendously helpful, the power and did I mention the interface?

Thank you all,

How many of you guys on the team? Is there a lead designer? I really love the slick interface and customization options.

Five currently. We all take part in designing and implementing. Glad you like it! Suggestions and feedback always welcome.

Cheers,
David

Great post Will. Another big Kudos to the red cine x team for the excellent software. Redcine is an essential tool on my workflow and you constantly pushing the envelope is what sets the bar for r3d implementation by third parties. I hope you guys take a look at what red giant software is doing with their "looks" software. I love the way they designed their features based in camera operation and post processes, using a very visual language. Magic Bullet Looks just feels like a match made in heaven with raw- can you guys develop some of that functionality and "language" for redcine x, while of course maintaining the heavy duty precise parameter settings you currently have?

Still, excellent work, and I use it every day when handling red footage even with native functionality in premiere, for example. Simply brilliant, and can't wait where you guys take it next!

I have a feature request. Sometimes before I drag a clip into the project bin, I'll start tinkering with the look and the in/out points. I often forget that I haven't brought it into the project and have to rely on putting into a look memory to apply it after I drop the clip in the project. It would be great if there was an option to send a clip from the viewer to the project with current settings. Just a thought... thanks for a great software.

Bob, there is a way to directly send a clip from the viewer to the project (preserving the current look and any other settings).

On the upper-right corner of the viewer, click the gear button and select "Add to Project".

Ahhh Haaaaa!!!! Thanks Grant!

Have to add my voice to this. RCX/-P has matured in an incredible way!

Going for a large conform/firstlight/VFX 24 episodes gigant, and doing all the firstlights and matching of scenes in RCX, before sending off to resolve/VFX.

The conform tools have become really useable.

I would have loved to see a structured way to export VFX shots/comps, but I am running a Hiero test now. Maybe that is the answer to my needs.

Would it be possible to mark clips as reverse and just export exr's backwards?

Have a couple of other questions looming, but will work a bit first.

Cheers and thanks!

Just have to say I've been using RCXPro 12 with RC3 and RG3...typically use Alchemy, Saturation, FLUT, and Shadow, but I decided to incorporate the Film Look with the standard setting in RCPro12 and WOW. This setting really does soften up my lenses nicely to take the edges off and looks great! Of course with all that extra it adds significantly to the export time but it's worth it.

One suggestion I'd love to have is a multi window/side-by-side to compare one take to another...sometimes the sun changes, dips behind a cloud, or we do our turn arounds and in order to match it would be great to have at least one more image to compare.

guys since REd is the future why not make RCX a full blow editing system?? A one stop shop because you know how to work with the camera files and we have to down convert them to go into another application for completion.
