Hey,

I've never gone to film school so I'm stuck reading hundres of books, magazines and occassionaly watching behind the scenes videos online.

Kerner Optical used to be under ILM (Lucas) but is now a separate company that still provides "miniature" services to filmmakers. I enjoyed watching all their behind the scenes videos.

Go to their website and click on "Gallery" and then "Video."

If you have a great behind the scenes video to share, I'd love to see it.

Thanks Jeremy, that was a lot of fun.

What a great thread... Would love to see a lot more "BTS" video's or anyone who knows DVD/Blurays's with good BTS segments can list them here..

That website should be a case study for what a website design should not be. Despite the content, it's one of the worse professional website i've ever visited.

yeah. the quality of their website really seems to be hurting their business.

most of david fincher's dvd's/blu-rays BTS is amazing. more like a day to day on a film set kind of thing but very educational.

All the extras on Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven; Extended director's cut, DVD/BD are very good. Follows the production from prep., shooting in Spain and Morocco, through post prod.

Impressive movie too!

Film School? Whats that?

I'l never, not ever go to one, not even if they paid me to go.

I prefer to learn my own technics and style by trial and error, and I know it will be my material and I'll be original, not saying good, the viewers will decide about that, but I'll be original in my creations :-).

Now BTS I absolute love them, and some time far more then the film it self, I for one I will make sure that I will have a Photographer and a Pro Videographer or Cinematographer for the BTS, present at all time during my shoots.

I will dedicate time and effort to share how I do what I do, and show how I do it, just in case some one wants to see it, and learn something they didn't already know.

Also I believe is important and refreshing to be able to share how a movie is made, and not only by its production and shooting material, but also the how it came to be and the story behind the story and such.
