  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Grateful...

Jim,

I have lurked on this board for a while. Having little experience, and no training, but a passion to share through images, I have but not posted till now because I wanted to be a learner first. I have learned so much on this forum. Concerning Red, I was drawn here by the grand idea of a camera system that produced no-compromise images, did not need to be replaced in 12-18 months by the next great thing coming from the big names in the industry, the affordable price of all of that, and by the business model you have just shown in your opening post. Please don't change any of that...

Patiently awaiting Scarlet so I can truly be called a "REDUSER."

Tom

Happy to participate, learn and be inspired.

When I was a teenager, I so dearly wanted a pair of Oakley's but never had the cash to buy them.

Now as an adult, here i am waiting to spend plus $5000 on a camera system. People I explain this too don't quite get it but as an avid watcher, consumer and creator of media, I see this as the opportunity to step up and take action on projects I have always wanted to do.

I thank the dedication of the team at RED for bringing this technology to life knowing that it is something they have always wanted to do.

Dream sharing is a wonderful thing.

Thank You Jim,

Thank You for listening, even to my "impossible" request.

I am just very grateful myself for you guys have done the impossible.

I can't wait to play with the Histogram on the RedMote.

;-)

Thanks Again.

And we thank you for creating a strong and vibrant user community. It was a brilliant idea.

But it wouldn't be here without your creative leadership and willingness to break through the bullshit in pursuit of excellence.

And for that, we thank you!

M

What he said. I second that.

Thank YOU,
Damien

I know I often complain, and I may seem like I am not "pro RED" on this forum. But I am. I don't do it off of here. Actually, I have talked several people into "looking into" RED as an alternative. If I can afford a camera from RED and the time is right I am in. If I cannot, I do apperciate the company. (You will not see me on any other camera brand sites!)

So in the end, thank you Jim.

This on-line community is a truly unique communication / marketing / networking environment, at the heart of a revolutionary distribution system that bypasses wholesalers in favor of a direct relationship with the end user. I've experienced real feedback, and feel a connection to this company that transcends being a consumer. I was a consultant for Sony in developing their early DVCAM system. The communication lines there were one-way, completely unlike the Red experience. Both customer and developer benefit.

That's why I made the trip to NAB last year, to meet some of this amazing team, and get a sense of the people behind the posts. Can't go this year, as I'm on location in Argentina, but I'll be following along here.

Your vision and dedication much appreciated.

Never too big to be right here...

Jim

and that's why we are, too!

RED is a great place where the big guys play along with the "smaller" guys which is pretty rare. and you listen to each and everyone, which for me is pretty much unheard of.
thanks a ton for sharing and making all this possible! always love to be here and feel so welcome.

Thanks to RED as well. You have shown what good service and customer interaction can be like when done right. 2011 is one hang of a year

Thank you for saying this, Jim.

And thank you for your leadership - for having the passion and the clarity of vision to push your program beyond where it would be if you had only listened to all of us. I don't think any of us would have chosen to wait this long for the Epic, but I am grateful that you didn't stop at what the camera would have been if it had been released then.

It's a remarkable thing you've done here, Jim. To have fostered this community, with all of it's valuable feedback and ideas and learning resources, and at the same time to have maintained your own, clear, evolving vision of what RED should be is a remarkable testament to your leadership.

Thank you for that as well.

Thanks for listening.

We are not Sony, Arri, Panasonic or Canon. We are a small group of people dedicated to delivering what the others could not.

Jim

Thank God for that. I eagerly await your Sophmore effort.

Never too big to be right here...

Jim

And that is why you succeed. Reminds me of another fellow, Steve Jobs, whom I've traded emails with on occasion. Putting the pant legs on, one at a time.

While always learning something new here from some amazing talent, this joint is just plain fun.

I don't often say it... but we are so grateful for everyone's participation here on Reduser.

We are not Sony, Arri, Panasonic or Canon. We are a small group of people dedicated to delivering what the others could not. No easy task. Everyone here is working on fumes. The amount of effort is hard to measure. All of it is an effort to make a big difference.

Without a customer base... none of this is possible. This is the moment where we thank you all for your support.

Jim

Thx for the recognition, and even more thx for not being Sony, ARRI, Pan...........
Appreciate the great support from the whole RED Team for an even much small group working on an crazy ideas during the last 3 years!!! ! THX!

It refreshing to be able to talk to and interact with the team directly and it may have been one of the best decisions made early on.

Congrats on where RED's been and where RED's going...

Jason

This is why we Love not just what it is RED and what RED Makes, but what RED is made out of, a small group of people, that follows with all
their Passion at work, the Vision of an Individual, motivated like no other companies to give the absolute Best possible tools for the Cinema
Industry, doing so in an openness context never sen and or experienced before, all the RED Team, most of which I know in Person, are
simply dedicated as their leader, and always here for al of us, to discuss and respond so yes, ,this is not ordinary company,
and we Love you for it.

We hope you never change your ways about sharing as you have been with us. ;)
