graphics card for my computer/RED Editing

my raddeon 5770 graphics card just went down and i need to replace it. considering upgrading in the process. please recommend graphics cards or features to look for.

I am running

Mac Pro 2010 v5.1
Red Rocket
PCI- E SSD Drive

Photoshop. AE, FCP7, Davinchi

Apple 27in Monitor and 20in Cinema display for tools

is power draw an issue between the pci-e ports in my situation? right now the GTX 680 looks good. Maybe the Radeon 5870. is the K5000 worth the $1800..?

Hello, I have the 2009 version and thinking of upgradig it with internal SSD and the new sapphire card, which you can get for aroun 350 EUR // 420 USD (i guess). The tests seem to be not overwhelming good - but it seems to be still the best card at hand currently. This shall be then the "B" computer next to the new Mac Pro

I have an R9 280x sitting in the box on the floor of the apartment that I haven't gotten the chance to install yet -- I'll do it tomorrow and update you. It was fairly cheap ($300) and seems to have good performance from what I've read.
