I attached a WeTransfer link to (2) shots taken from a recent Gillette re-shoot (it's a spec).

It might be too late to save it, but looking at it now, the lighting does not fit the overall piece. Looks a bit like an infomercial.

Anyway to spice it in in post via a more contrasty/punchier grade?

A couple of Redcine-X variations -

Not sure if the difference between this one and the last is that noticeable, it's a little bit more red but a bit less magenta -

The close up shots are the same colour as the wider shot they're paired with, just brightened up a bit to see into the shadows, so they don't match as well as they might.

Thanks for sharing some pics to play with Savva.

just my test grade.

The lighting on the razor itself seems to be the most off about this. Seeing the detail of it is most important and you kinda lose that with lack of lighting on it.

There's a lot of DR in that shot. Fun to play with. Thanks for sharing -

Interesting takes guys.

I'm just really hating the wide-shot of talent. The set looks theatrical, the haze in the back isn't helping. Might have to use a take without the smoke and add it in later.

So I'm trying to darken as much of the set as possible, might even crop into the shot a bit.

Not necessary -- a vignette could do it with any reasonable color-correction program. I would not consider RCX up for a commercial grade.

I agree with Sam Windell above about placing an emphasis on the razor. A tracking power window with some sharpening might help, but a lot would depend on the focus of the original shot.
