here are some grabs from a film i feature i shot this summer on red #542,
reg Red lens !8-50
arri 2k
lowel pro 4x 1k kit
lee colotran 2k
lots of silks and diffusors

i lit, shot, directed, produced, dolli, and i am editing and scoring the whole picture by myself. I had a sound girl for the boom some days

the red is a marvelous camera it allows you to compose your shots work with your actors, light and block, all by staring at your monitor.
this production is going straight to video,
unless there are some dvds in stores shot with red i want to be the first, but the damn Adobe .R3D plugin is slowing me down

Are they color corrected already ? Something looks not quite right here... More like hvx grabs and 35mm adapter than red, too much video like. Maybe the lighting ? Can you post some other grabs ? Getting some other people to take some duties from you could benefit in overall better look of movie.

Cheers,
Alan

the 1st, 2nd and 4th are redspace raw, the 3rd is white balanced in red alert rec709, all are in action/motion grabs. on the wider side of the lens. i will post other grabs where the camera is still. thats the same honest impression i got from seeing these grabs online they look super video but they actually look a thousand percent better, very noisey and contrasty. I have to figure out a way to post these at 2k in the actual post.

You can try some hard CC on the raws and this should look much better than. Unfortunatelly some things (like creative lighting, composition) can't be cheated on post. But that's another story. As I wrote earlier you should focus on one thing - directing, dp or whatever you feel the best. And let others do the rest, than the real fun begins.

the story is about a woman who extracts body parts in an abandoned mental hospital, i think you guys got it right, red raw files are flat. empty frames is what we are going for ala 24 hour photo.
