Any chance you can show us a comparison between the original 4k raw file and the new 6k file? I think that would be a big help in seeing the difference. Either way very cool stuff!

I may have grabbed the still from a different part of the timeline. Also, I had a gamma shift when making the AVI, which I roughly compensated for with a pre-compression gamma.Les, love to see a 4k original, a 6k still and a 1080 centre crop xvid from the same clip. Your xvid and still are from different clips.

Is that what you are seeing?
I just double checked, and the 14 MB JPG and the AVI are the same , when viewed at 1:1 . Are you sure you are viewing both at 'Actual pixel' or 1:1 size ?No, the still and the xvid are not in proportion and therefore must have been shot with different focal lengths.
I'll see if I can shoot a test between 'no OLPF' and 'with OLPF' in the next few days. I've done it before, and it's like someone cleaned your glasses. Stay tuned!
Now in the meantime, can we get someone to post full res. mono Epic frames ? I mean, if I had that camera I would be happy to provide examples.
Nothing personal Les but I'm pretty sick of the "Got *****?" phenomenon. Every time someone comes to me that wants to market their own product and are not really versed in the ways of advertising this pops up and every time I have to explain to them that you shouldn't ever duplicate someone else's idea so flagrantly and that Got Milk? only works for very specific reasons. I see it every where and I just wish it would go away. http://adweek.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/gotmilk_big2.jpg
I got some nice results from my Scarlet...sharp lens helped though...could you do better than this with your secret sauce?

my blog post about it is here: http://mattscottvisuals.com/blog/2012/5/8/pressure-makes-diamonds.html
it is easier to get sharp images from a close up than a wide shot.
;-)
Hey, he asked for samples, and that's a sample. Where's yours?

You can find plenty of my sample on RU.
Anyway I'm not a Scarlet user, just an Epic user.
