Does anyone have experience working with GoPro Studio? I'm editing a project that was shot entirely on GoPros and I don't know if it is better to use my normal NLE (FCP7) or use their native editing program?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We have GoPro Studio Professional primarily for stereo work shot with a pair of GoPros and it works beautifully. GoPro studio converts your files to the high quality CineForm codec. Even though the GoPro Studio UI looks very consumer, it actually allows very high-end grading, positioning etc. capabilities all of which are metatdata. We use GoPro Studio in conjunction with PP CS6 and the integration is seamless. I believe the same is true for FCP7 but have no first hand experience. I'm not certain I would do in-depth editorial GoPro Studio alone, but inconjunction with another NLE, the combination is very good. GoPros shoot raw and the Protune LUT (one of the many LUTs included) works well with that raw file.

Awesome! I just got the footage and its transferring right now. Looking forward to seeing what this program can do!

Best of luck with your project. If you have any questions feel free to ask although I am far from expert. Jake Seagraves a GoPro/CineForm support is excellent and very fast to respond.

In my (limited) experience, GoPro Studio is best used as an ingest step. Stabilize, warp, adjust, and transcode the footage, and then use it in your editing platform of choice.

Great tool, for what it is, but it won't give you as many options as you'll have in any NLE, and you'll be format limited as well.

It crashed while converting the files and I lost everything :( thank god I had the files already saved on a backup drive.

So I finished properly converting the files and it worked... or so I thought? All of my files are at about 80%-90% speed of what they should be. When I speed it up to 110% it goes back to close to normalized motion but then I lose my audio. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

I tried converting a really short file (less then 20 seconds long) and it worked perfectly? Is it just my computer not being able to handle it? I have a mid 2011 MBP 2.2GHZ with 4 Gb of ram.

I'm editing together a montage so audio isn't actually important for this project but I'd like to no what's going on for future projects.

Thanks for any help!

When I convert one clip at a time it seems to work but if I do a batch conversion then it seems to not convert properly.

Hold on I figured out the issue. It stemmed from trying to change the framerate during the processing of the footage.
