Hey guys. I was looking for a product but I'm not sure it exists. I want to find/build a flexible gooseneck mount for the bulky Red EVF. Something sort of like this: http://www.tetrasociety.org/project_pages/camera_mount_stand.htm

Does anyone have any ideas? If not, does anyone know of any low budget replacements for the Red Arm?

Thanks,

I think you will find the EVF is way too heavy for most flexible arms that I've ever used. The new Zacuto solution seems like the best one for the $$. I have the most excellent ET mount and I love it. I highly recommend the ET mount if you can afford it.

I have already planned to use a gooseneck for my LCD when I take delivery of the camera. Just seems like a perfect solution. Here's my choice:

They also make a 20 inch solid thin line that is likely a little more robust.

Getting cheap, standard adapters should be a breeze because of the standardization of the ends. I understand the weight of the EVF might be too much, but the solid core ones might be worth a try.

Without a locking mechanism, I don't think you'll be able to get it "just right" for too long. So you'll probably spend more time adjusting the EVF than shooting, IMHO.

The gooseneck for the LCD might be fine, but for the EVF this won´t work.
When i work with the EVF i press my eye against the lid to cover the EVF from any surrounding light, this force would make the gooseneck to move.
The other thing is that a gooesneck never stays where you let it loose, it always drifts down a bit, so it´s a pain in the a.. to ajust.
And the third reason i won´t use it would be that i can´t make sure the EVF is horizontally leveled.

agreed with the above...too much weight for the goose neck. the
evf is 2.5 pounds.

If you want "gooseneck", def go for the Zacuto Zamerican large EVF kit.
