I recently put together a blog post for how Google Wave could theoretically impact filmmaking. There is a lot to it, so if you are interested you may want to check out the original here:

While Wave is still in its infancy, I think there is a lot that it may one day be able to do for filmmaking. The Red camera sticks out as a probable piece of the plugged in puzzle. Since it has fast become the most talked about tapeless camera (as evidenced by these boards :) ), Red could one day fit into this kind of a Web 2.0 workflow. I'd love to open discussion on how this could work, or couldn't work. Best of luck to all. Keep shooting.

This sounds great, but in a sense, this is only a usage scenario. It's an idea about using a web2.0 based (very advanced) tool for a specific purpose.

It might be very useful for filmmakers too, but it won't "impact filmmaking" more than it will impact the workflow of industrial development people or group-oriented doctors.

Great idea, but I wouldn't say it has the potential to revolutionize filmmaking or impact it in a very staggering way.

Aron, I think you're mostly right in looking at this as a usage scenario, today. But there is potential for changing the way people look at the process. Google Wave could facilitate creative input from unlikely corners of a film production. By bringing more people into the fold, there is no telling what you can do.
