If you can watch this in HD... pretty amazing pictures coming out of those little things.

I personally hate using them... We have 3 stashed on set most times for the almost impossible shot. But when you see shots like this coming out of them. You have to give it to GOPRO, They have done pretty amazing stuff for a tiny plastic toy camera. :)

and this is just the Hero2.
I worked for GoPro here in Europe on some events to produce promo for YouTube,... and I heard a lot of people disliking it as they try to use it like their home handy cam... Its not that at all. Its a camera for shots you usually cant get with normal cameras and if you use it like that you will love it. Be creative with it and youll get amazing shots.
I also love it for traveling as its in my pocket or on my backpack strap and i get shots i would usually be too lazy to do (putting my backpack down and taking DSLR out...)
It has come a long way and i thing there is bright future ahead!

The only thing I really dislike about GoPro is that you need the proprietary $1000 cineform plugin for their free gopro studio app, in order to make full use of their $300 camera, you can't use any of the high end or more professional features otherwise, it's really a good example of a company shooting themselves in the foot. On the one hand I suppose keeping one hand tied behind their back keeps the Canon guys in business.

Need Cineform? I have it, but even without it I just suck the GOPRO clips into PremierePro/AE/Nuke and go to work. No problems.
BTW, I am amazed at the quality of the footage. Not a replacement for my Epics, but I have no qualms about putting them in harm's way to get a shot. Waiting for their 4K at 30 fps...

Right! We are planning some breathtaking aerial takes with gopros among the mountains in Hardanger, Norway. We couldn´t have risked the Scarlet on these. Does anyone have tips on settings and workflow that work well to enhance and match gopro3+ with r3d. Thx. Thommes

You kinda need to think about it the other way. The raw recording of the Red gives you more to work with, so think in terms of matching it to the Gopro's look.

You're right Mark. They are amazing for under $400. Shot a movie trailer in Germany a while back and used one shot from the interior of a Blackhawk helicopter. It was brief and held up well against the Epic. Would have never got the shot without it.

I gotta admit, that is beautiful. The sound design and mix are extremely good, too.
