I'm not sure if these are FCS or gluetools related, but while doing tests with the wraptor we tried a lot of formats and found some funny issues when sending gluetools sequences to compressor...

1. It is hard to make the gluetools controlpanel "do nothing" to the image, even when coosing "linear" or "raw image data"

2. When exporting greyskale charts with distinct steps through compressor, the dpx sourced files had some pixels averaging between the steps.

This was not the issue when using AJA wrapped dpxs

I am totally open for user faults here, but if anyone have a solution to this, it would be appreciated.

Also it seems like compressor has a quite linear push down curve applied on all formats.

Anyone seen this or have a solution for my faulty treatment of the tools?

Yup, this is our temporal solution as well.

The "gamma-shift" in compressor is a turnoff, though. It's not really a gamma-shift, nor a negative lift/brightnes, more like a nagative gain, where the whitepoint is left untuched, but the blackpoint is pushed down. It has a slightish curve, more brutal @ the end. In a 16 step grayscale chart, the 15th step becomes all-black.

That's quite brutal for a transcoder...
