Can someone confirm this?

And if confirmed, could someone also that all I need to get for charging my scarlet is the Wooden camera quickback, battery back for switronix, and the V mount plate itself?

As far as the batteries go, I'm thinking about getting two GMP Li160wh batteries as well as the charger.

Will this charger work for the batteries or is it something else? GMP won't allow me to contact them with questions

Big help, thanks

I use 5 different manufacturers of V lock batteries/chargers , including global medi, they all cross- compatible, it's a standard mount

Whereabouts are the V-Mount adapters and backplates that aren't in backorder? I am having trouble finding anything for a decent price that is in stock....

That setup should work Michael and seems to be what a lot of people are going for. The Wooden Camera system is a little confusing to work out - you need a mount for your mount for your mount for your battery! But you got it. It's annoying that GMP isn't contactable to ask questions but they say it's what keeps their prices low. 160Wh is a good size battery too. I've used them with other gear. They are the maximum size you can take as carry on luggage on a plane and only 10% heavier than the 90WH ones. You'll need at least three to get continuous power where you have access to mains to plug in the charger. Your 1st used battery should charge

Abelcine, Wooden Camera, Amazon and Zacuto all stock the Switronix GP-S-EPIC V-Mount Plate for RED EPIC/Scarlet but all are in backorder. Apparently there is a temporary shortage of the chips used in the plate. Choose between 10,20 and 14" cable.

Hey guys,

I am rocking the MG1 Concepts plate and 3x 160Wh GMP bats. My only complaint is that it does not pass on % to the camera... my fault for not checking the if the IDX plate they're using did that. Not a big deal.

One channel of the GMP dual charger has gone down on me after only 6 shoot days... Actually, I suspect it happened earlier in the process because our AC did bring us a couple of bats that he thought were charged that were not.

GMP support was prompt. They offered to repair the charger if I sent it back to them, or send me a single channel charger free of charge. Being without a charger for several weeks is not an option, so I will have to deal with the extra bulk of another charger.

EDIT: They just emailed me saying they'll send me a new dual channel charger free of charge and I do not need to return my half working one. That is A+ in my book, they couldn't have done any better!

The batteries are somewhat heavy toward the end of a long day. I'd like to try one of the 90Wh ones to see if it's worth selling one of the 160wh ones and getting a couple smaller ones for handheld. If they're really only 10% lighter, that is not that much saving... have to see how they feel.

Also, a shooter I know mounts his battery on the side of his camera by using a simple metal dummy v lock part (maybe VF makes it?) mounted on a side rib or top 19mm. He powers the camera with a Ptap to Epic power cable which he got made for $80. I think this is a cheaper solution than a rear plate, and it frees up the back of your camera for the redmote or other modules or whatever.

I liked the balance of his camera with the way he had his handles rigged, too. It seemed like a solid, flexible (presumably that v lock part can go pretty much anywhere), inexpensive solution. When he needs to power accessories he uses a ptap splitter.

Cool. We came to the same conclusion that 3 GlobalMediaPro 160wh batteries with the dual charger would provide us with continuous power... and it's good to hear that 160wh batteries can fly. I've heard conflicting information about the max wh for batteries in a plane.

95wh is the maximum allowed by FAA regulations in the US. They may not check everything every time but if they catch you, they may confiscate. Just a word of caution.

You can carry 3x 100-300wh batteries.

Thanks for the link Mike. It is strange that the .gov site says 160wh when other sites calculate it at 100wh max. Either way just be careful how many you take.
