So do those batteries charge fine on the red charger? or the IDX charger? I'm building my package now and looking at all the battery options realizing that I may not need red batteries or charger at all. I'm looking for the best overall power setup that might save me some Bens. I can afford red if I need to but if this is just as good...

My 190's (GMP RED version) arrived today and work fine on the RED. I have a GMP 2 way charger so all is good.

When I tried insulating those same ports on the RED battery I found out that either port 3 or 4 (or both) is used by the RED to communicate with the chip in the battery about power usage.

Sorry to beat this to death, but do the Anton Bauer 12v port still work from these modified batteries? For instance for powering a monitor?

And are there any trade offs here at all? any lack of "communication" between battery and camera?

They came out with a new version that displays the power percentage, # of cycels, etc.

Dang, that's a good deal. For $15 more than the B4B's 150 watt batteries, you get 40 more watt hours & a LCD readout. Not bad!

They used an IDX charger and it worked fine
this also solves the boot up issue.
