Globalmedia Pro Batteries on latest Epic Firmware 4.0.10 no longer show percentage. My Red batteries still do. Anyone else having this issue?

EDIT:

Correction - it doesn't seem to be a firmware thing after all. It seems to be a battery plate/battery thing. See post #5 for solution.

My Global media pro has almost always showed voltage not %. But ocationally they show %. I don't know what's going on. I have an Epic-M on 4.0.10

I'm running Global media pro and they're fine.

Obviously you need to make sure they're the Red specific one.

In the menu, I cant remember the exact section but it's where you select Absolute or Relative with the shutter I'm pretty sure you can select the battery to display as either a percentage or voltage.

i have five of these and some of them show %, others voltage ... and all of them are marked as RED compatible ...

Something I just discovered - my Red Specific Globalmedia Pro batteries that used to indicate percentage of the power left, and now do not on the new firmware 4.0.10, I've discovered it may be specific to my x (Reduser does not allow the name of this company to be posted) quickback/Switronix V-Mount plate. The Red Bricks still do show percentage. However, I also have a Red BATTERY BELT CLIP and the percentage on the Globalmedia does show up when I use the Red battery plate.

EDIT (solution):

Seems there's more info on it here:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showth...witronix-V-mount-plate-not-passing-percentage

I just added an additional magnet to the inside of my switronix v-mount plate. Seems the magnet is only on one side of the Switronix. Added magnet a little lower, little more center and had to flip magnet to find the right side (negative or positive side). Percentage now works.

Guess it was not a firmware thing, discovery just happened to coincide with firmware update.

It seems like this issue comes up quite frequently around here. If anyone would like to have their battery system diagnosed, and proper magnets installed, please contact me at jason@CinemaOxide.com
