  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Global media pro batteries for scarlet

Just put my order in. Super nervous to be honest.

Justin: I notice you are in LA, is there a retailer in LA that carries WC and Swit products?

Thanks

Went with the Tilta plate and it works well with the GMP batteries. £400 has bought me a 15mm rod plate and 2 95wh batteries. Very happy indeed. It only reads voltage on the screen but then hey, I know to worry at 11.7 volts!

Hi Simon - Which vendor did you use for your above set up?

This is the exact same setup I ordered (WC/Swit/GMP). Just waiting on the GMP batteries at the moment. The whole wire transfer process with GMP is a little bit of a pain (not to mention the extra fee your bank charges you). Do keep in mind though, make sure your payment is in the same currency as the quote you receive from GMP. Mine was in CDN$ but my bank converted it to NZ$ and GMP wouldn't accept it. But I must mention their excellent customer service - when I explained that this wasn't my fault and I would be charged yet another bank fee to wire the balance (which apparently after conversion was a whopping CDN$60) they decided to waive the price difference and proceed with the transaction. I will definitely be buying more GMP batteries in the future, but I just hope they start accepting PayPal and/or credit cards.

I also have the WC/swit/GMP setup and it has worked wonderfully for me for the past year. The batteries read percentages, charger charges quickly, plate works well. The only issue that you'll encounter with the swit plate is that the P-Tap ports will occasionally pop a fuse. Fuses are cheap (like several cents) and available at Radioshack. The P-Tap ports on the GMP batteries are rockstars and I've never had a single problem with them.
