Just trying to help my fellow redusers so they don't have to experience a NIGHTMARE--Please read my letter to Globalmediapro
Global Media Pro-I am really disapointed in your company-It says 2-3 days delivery to the US on your website and my items showed in stock when I ordered and still show "In Stock"-By you not having a phone number has also compounded the problem. I have 2 received emails that my shipment has been delayed and then delayed again and now that will be over 3 weeks from my order date for me to receive my $1400 order of batteries.-I will now have to RENT batteries for a shoot I have scheduled therefore costing me over $200 dollars for a 3 day shoot- I have also sent MULTIPLE emails with no response asking why you have posted inaccurate shipping times on your website and have failed to acknowledge me -To work with a dependable Company is important in the movie business. This is NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL- I am going to post this on the internet so other Production Companies and DP's don't have to go through what I have experinced-Nick Roman -CEO-Roman Media Productions

Just so you know, unless you use the official Red battery plate, GMP will not honour warranty (i use the switronix plate gp-s-epic). I learnt this the hard way. Service has been cold and very unfriendly. I'll never purchase from them again.

As a fresh and happy owner of an Epic, I decided to buy 3 Li160s and a charger for a total of 830 Euro in April this year. I had done some research online and it seemed like a good deal to me. Full of confidence in this world I wired the money upfront.

However, when the parcel reached Germany, I didn´t get any notification for customs. When I phoned customs, they told me about security problems with sending Li-Ion batteries via plane. (Globalmediapro later claimed I failed to come and pick up the parcel. Funny how they should know that... All I know is that I did not receive any notification.) But no matter what happened at this time, that´s not the point.

So the parcel went back to New Zealand. Globalmediapro told me to wait until the package would come back to them.

I had to write them every six weeks to make them remember my case, which is bad customer service in my eyes to begin with. Then they told me it was in their terms of trade that as soon as the package is at customs, they are out of any responsibility for it.

This may be so, I wrote back. But it couldn´t possibly be in their interest to have customers lose it all in a case like this. After all we are living in the fine new Internet age and I would certainly try to share my story with other interested people.

For an answer I got this: "If you need our help with the situation, please immediately withdraw your illegal defamation threats." - Which I (as a native non-English speaker) translated as: Don´t mention a word, You criminal, or You won´t get anything at all.

But, now having reached September, this nice remark slowly loses its bite. Since in August they wrote me a beautiful one liner for a finish: "We have not received the shipment yet. We suspect it was lost by the courier."

If it wasn´t for my money I would have liked to laugh about that: We suspect it was lost…please just forget about Your 830 Euros (1100 Dollars) and have a nice day.

So my advice to everybody planning to buy at Globalmediapro out there: There are hidden costs in the terms of trade of this company - if something goes wrong at customs Your money may be lost - all of it. If you ask me, DON´T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
