I purchased myself a Devin Graham Glidecam a few months back, and it's a lot of fun to use, set up times a lot quicker than their older version of Glidecam, but the weight, with my Raven and a Enduro Cue D150, plus all the weights they provide can become killer after a few hours. I've been thinking, if there is a way to modify the bottom and to replace the weights at the bottom with the V-lock instead, I've attached the picture to better demonstrate how I imagine it would.

I've been looking at the DSMC Battery clip, and figuring out a method to attach it to the bottom plate, but I'm just worried that the length of the cable will be to long for what I need. I've seen some V-lock plates online with some 6pin LEMOs but the cables would never reach, so I don't know if there are extenders out there which I could use to help me fill the gap from the bottom of the gildecam to the DC-in on the Raven.

I did this with gold mount and an HD4000 and ran dtap up the post for camera power. With a universal plate connected to a custom plate that screws into the weights, I can add and remove weights as needed.

You should mount a dummy plate on the bottom and just run a D-Tap cable down to power from the battery/mount and have that go into the power port on the cam. You can even use extenders if you want to make it easily break away into pieces if that's how you store it.

A lot of folks do this with a variety of cameras, just swap the D-Tap to adapt to RED power and you're golden.
