HI

for an upcoming shoot I want a certain dim & moody vibe but with a glamourous look.
I haven't seen the location yet, but I'm trying to do as much prep as I can beforehand since the shoot will normally be a couple of days after the location visit.
:)

The location is at elevated level. We'll shoot at night
The large windows give view to sort of city like view with tall buildings and lot's of lights at night (normally).
The walls are ugly (there is also wall up to belly/chest level under the windows), Art Dep? Maybe but let's not count on it with the last minute approach.

For the look I want a shaped slightly cool pool of light coming (from left rigged at ceiling tilted down at an angle) hitting the talent and the table. I'm in doubt about hard or med soft.
I bet that might be too contrasty certainly if I go for hard. It should be dark and it should be 'moody'
A little fill for the talent might be good, or even a general fill (but those walls and reflections)
I also want the lights of the citylike environment in the background.

Of course the budget is next to nothing.
Of course the room is not very big. (It's not tiny! Woohoo!)
Of course I think I want a wide shot.

About lights, 3 things crossed my mind. But what would you pick/use?
Kino - Flo :they have a relatively small footprint, relatively lightweight, are pretty shapable with Dop's Choice accessoires. But for this shoot it gets quite expensive with the accessoires added up.
China - Ball(s) : Skirt the shit out of them of course, but still less shapable. They're a good option though but worried they might be too soft and too broad
ETC Colorsource Led PAR : I haven't used them yet, but they are very cheap to rent and I'm very curious how they perform. They also are relativerly small footprint and light weight. Shapable with some home materials but not from scratch.

Tasty effect lighting could add something and could have it's place here as well.
Fixtures I didn't think about?
Have you worked with the ETC Colorsource Led PAR?
Anything you're thinking of?
Chime in & Tell me.

Also worried about reflections in the window('s). I've only used dullspray on tiny things like car headlights for instance.
If I dullspray the shit out of a window will I still have the citybokeh goodness in the background? Will it be noticeable if the other windows are not dullsprayed?

Thanks ahead!
