Hello!
I just got a Helix and I'm looking forward to learning it well. I know it's something that takes quite a bit of time to master, but I'm eager to practice.
So what sort of exercises can/should I do to begin to build solid technique – 101-style?
Thanks!

It still requires good walking technique like a stedicam..... so fill two glasses of water to the very top and hold one in each hands and walk around without spilling any.

I'd take out the helix and practice different moves over and over. Play it back and see where to improve or change the camera settings. In particular, play with the PID (particularly the I & D) to delay gimbal reaction. High moves, low moves, low to high, walking and then running... see what works. The more you can put one foot directly in front of the other (not laterally) the smoother things tend to be. My dog knows it's going to get a workout whenever the gimbal comes out! Great practice subject, always on the move.
