  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hello All,
First off I just want to thank everyone on this board for all the knowledge that has been posted on here, I have lurked on here for a long time (Since the begining I think). The wealth of knowledge and advice on these boards never fails to amaze me. I am reaching out to the Red community in the hopes that some of you may be able to help me out. I am 30 years old, a film school graduate, and I looking to get back into the production field. I live in Harford County, Maryland and would be willing to work for free a few times in order to prove myself to possible employers. If you have any advice or would like me to send you my resume please send me a message and I will get it you a.s.a.p. I have worked as a P.A. on both large and small features, shot and directed my own short films and worked in other various departments on television shows and produced a few corprate videos in the past. I had to get away from the biz for a while, got married and all that, but I cant deny my passion for this industry any longer. Thank you in advance for any advice or tips anyone has to offer. Thanks to all of you who have read my post, and thank you most of all to the one brave soul who sent me p.m. I was kind of surprised at the lack of response, but I will never give up and keep on keeping on. Thanks again everyone. It is amazing how much I love this community.

Hi, welcome to the boards (as a posting member). I think that the reason people haven't responded is because of your location. I don't know how many of the people from here are from the Maryland area. If you were in the NY or LA areas then maybe a lot more people could help out. I would suggest that you give Craigs list a try and see if anything interesting comes up. I would try the DC area one:

It would also help if you could build up more of a posting history here so people could get a sense of who you are. In any case I wish you the best of luck and definitely don't give up.
 
Thanks for the reply "TheThe", I appreciate the advise. I have tried the Craigslist thing more then a few times, and it seems to me that the only people on there,for the most part, just want you to do everything for free and expect nothing in return. I have been down that road more then a few times and just got tired of people expecting your expertise in exchange for nothing. I do understand that sometimes people do need help with low or no budget productions, I have done a few myself, but a lot of the people on there just seem to not want to pay anyone. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the reply, Keep on Keeping on.
