Yeah, I have no doubt it will be awesome. RED seems to be putting together a string of hits over the last several years. The images coming off the Gemini are inspiring to a point where they are creating film concepts for me. Spent the last several days creating a shot list for a project that I started to pitch last night. That did not happen for me with Dragon. The last RED camera I loved was my Epic-M. Gemini seems to motivate the creation process because it has more range imho
Couldn't agree more, except insert Hydrogen for Gemini in my experience.
I have a low budget (written that way) script I've been trying to make into a movie for a number of years but events, limitations, have been getting in the way. With the Hydrogen I'm finally going to get it made within affordability by shooting a new way (at least, new for me.) I wont go into details... maybe when its done and if I like how it turns out.
But one of the most fantastic things I visualize with the Hydrogen is the possibility of grouping six of them together to create an array (dubbed HYDRA '-) and stitching them all together to create 24k+ IMAX to the MAX (Maybe I'll call that HYDRAMAX '-) Of course in the beginning I'll be shooting 2D for the most part, but eventually this 4V thing is gonna take off in my opinion.
Not to worry because RDC is building a 3D camera that outputs will be convertible to 4V, so my new crowd and the REDuser crowd can eventually be creating content that will cross-platform.
This is so exciting that I work daily toward extending my life span in order to experience as much of what's coming as possible.
