  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Gauging Interest in a Group Buy for Anton Bauer Batteries

FYI, the Cine Batteries will charge on some older chargers such as the 2702 which may need a new 5.9 firmware chip installed. I have a TM4 and the 2702 and I don't plan on getting any of the new chargers for the Cine Batteries.

Just be aware guys, the 'Cine 150s/90s' can ONLY be charged on the current Anton Bauer chargers, and those current Anton Bauer chargers won't charge any other v-mount batteries out there (well, one or two Sony variants, but that's basically it).

So if you buy in, be aware that you're buying into a system, and you'll have to be committed to it - there's no mixing-and-matching allowed.

The 12 amp draw is fantastic though, I use mine to run my Area48s at full power remotely - which is a tremendous thing.

This isn't true at all, I charge my Switronix slims on my AB v-mount charger no problem. I also can charge my Cine 150 with the Switronix wall charger with no problem, it takes a while but it works

Well it's good to know that there are exceptions, but we couldn't charge the AB Cines on Sony, IDX, Red or GlobalMediaPro chargers, and we couldn't get IDX, Red Bricks, or GlobalMediaPro v-mount batteries to charge on the AB charger (the Sony Olivine batteries did charge on the AB charger).

The important point is that there are MASSIVE cross compatibility issues with the AB batteries and chargers and other brands of batteries of chargers - more so than I've ever encountered with another type of v-mount system.

So caveat emptor .

Any word on this one?

I'm tempted by the Blueshape GB that is going on right now, but I think the Cine 150s are a better form solution for the Epic-W.

Also, the C-150s are a continuous 12a, which is awesome and they have a 2-slot simultaneous charger which is much better for travel! If the Blueshape Minis were out, I'd probably go that route, but as it stands, looking to pick up some AB Cine 150s and possibly 90s if the price is right.

Cheers,

I would buy at least 2 cine 150s. Let's make this happen.

Mitch/Phil - any news on whether this can come together? Definitely interested in a power upgrade.

Lots of interest here. Let's make it happen!

Sidenote: Not super keen on the bulky performance chargers. Will the LP2 and LP4 models charge the cines equally quickly? Or will the Dynacore 2X charger, power up the Cine bricks?

I went with the LP2 for size reasons. And although I can't compare them, they do charge very quickly. They can get the 150s pretty well full within an hour.
