  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

***"GARBO" Trailer Teaser. RED ONE goes B&W in my Directorial Debut ***

Looks really good, but I find myself wanting a little grain in there, I'm so used to black & white being grany that it just feels wrong when it looks so clean :-)

Thanks Rudi,

I know what you mean, but actually been that I over compressed the crap out of it, it is not even as c;lose to the way should look, but that what you get shooting RED, you can beat up the S%$@#T out of the footage and still there is more room to do stuff, and still have a clean image.

ciao

I like to know more about it, and please do stop by any time if you ever are in Vegas.

And thanks on the studio, very exited about that as well, finally a home were to do all my projects.

ciao

PM'd you Ketch.

Andrew.

ciao ketch
happy to see a teaser from your directorial debut!
the retro style seems exciting, could be what SS wanted for The Good German (but did not work there)?

L'unica cosa che mi lascia un poco stranito e' il doppiaggio molto evidente, forse per dargli un senso voluto/retro' ci vorrebbe un trattamento audio che richiama quegli anni?

Ketch, I think if you can tighten up the audio sync, and add some foley texture I think it will help pull it all together. Nice work!

Audio aggiustato!

Thanks Steve,

the audio issue was only present on the previous upload, but it has just been fixed, at list I hope I did! The foley issues as I mentioned on the original post #1 is something to do with the lack of budget from the Executive Producer, as otherwise Manny would have worked on them as He did for the glass shattering FX ( no glass were broken on the Penthouse).

Ketch,

Fantastic visuals! If I may provide an observation; during the transitional text containing the phrase "Soon love would reach it's peak", the word "it's" should read "its", without an apostrophe. It may also be better to add a comma, so that the phrase reads "Soon, love would reach its peak".

Congratulations on the superb images, and I look forward to seeing the final product!

Kindest regards,

Fabián

Thank you Fabian,

your are very kind, I agree with you on the text, however, KETCHFRAME nor myself, hold the rights to the piece, therefor I can't change anything from its original version, but I'm sure Yelena will read on, and She will be the only one to have such authority to make those changes, which in my opinion would in deed make it a better stronger contextual read.

Thanks again Fabian, for your support and comments.

Looks great! The only question for me would be, if I would lit the whole thing with softboxes to reach the B&W garbo style, I would go with hard light and some nylon stockings in front of the lens.

Thanks Daniel,

great suggestion yours, but for the particular look wanted in this piece, was intentionally lit with 1/2 stop silk only on the softbox, and used the super speeds WO.

No doubt I do believe that the Nylon stockings in front of the lens would have also given a very unique look to the images especially since we are finishing in B&W.

I did in fact shot several times in Still shoots with this technic and have several different sizes of netting as to give those looks, and the girls have made fun of it several times, you know, caring broken stocking in your suit case leaves room for Q??? :)

ciao

Will show the clip in 2K on a 25' screen at the new Las Vegas studio starring July.

Ciao paesano.

Grazie Luca,

much appreciated.

A compliment from a fellow Citizen is something of a nostalgia, as it makes me believe I'm already back home, but soon.

Thanks again Luca.

Please make sure that you stop by the Studio in Vegas when you visit the USA.

ciao Bello
