I can no longer put up with this. How can I grade anything when the output looks totally different from what I'm monitoring?

After sending footage to FCP it gets SO much darker. Like nearly a stop, especially in dark areas. The gamma issue is a nightmare. Any ways to deal with this? I want what I'm looking at in Color to be what I get in Final Cut. Yes, I'm using the "send to color" command, working in prores 4:2:2.

Spend a grand and buy Resolve. Apple's roundtrip is crap and Resolve will blow you away.

OK, yes, you can then spend more money on GPUs, expansion chassis and panels but, even without all the add-ons, it still outperforms Color.

Use the FCP.mga LUT that's included with (some) installs of Color. Try rendering uncompressed instead of ProRes. There's a lot of different options.

What version of FCP/Color are you using? What (if any) video out hardware?
