G-Raid 320 upgrade?

A little off topic, but I can not seem to find details on this version of the G-Raid:

Can I assume it is SATA? I see from a couple of other FS posts that the smaller version can be bus powered, can this one? I looked thru the manual and it doesn't say.

It can't be bus powered. It has an ac adapter.

Bummer. It is a (seemingly) great deal, but having to plug-in limits its intial usefulness.

Now, is it SATA? That will be the make/break question.

Hi Scott,

I hope you are enjoying your new tool.

I've been slammed with other things and haven't shot anything yet, but I do now have a grip truck.

I'm not sure about the sata issue, it looks a lot like what I have, which are sata, but bjonsson is incorrect.

I have a couple of the last generation G-raid mini's and they able to be be buss powered over firewire, and they also have an ac adapter, which I always use when practicable.

Many mini raids, provide both a bus powered option and an AC adapter option on the same unit.

Steve, so yours is the same/similar to the one pictured? They make/made a few different models.

I haven't shot yet either. I still need to collimate/back focus the Berger/Impero. But quicky tests shows it is just to cool! The only issue I have/need to find out is of you can set the speed it will do the "automated" rack-focus using the preset buttons. By default it is near instataneous.

Oh, and I went over to the darkl side, at least partially. I bought a MacBook Pro yesterday. And will most likely get an IPhone due to the number of usefull apps for Red/Cinematography. But it sure does haveweak navigation I don't want to regret not waiting for the NuviPhone, but I doubt there will be many/any apps for it like the IPhone.
