What's everybody's favorite eSATA equipped portable HDD now that the G-Drive is no more?

Please don't try to tell me that I should switch everything over to a thunderbolt-addled mac mini and just embrace USB 3.0... we use Mac Pros and we use eSATA.

Thanks.

According to the last eSata v USB3 thread, G-Drive responded to complaints about USB-3 and began manufacturing the eSata version again... I know I bought one just a few weeks ago.

Here the 6TB RAID w/ esata is listed as still in stock--even though they have the thunderbolt version now. $499 for six terabytes in Raid 0 over eSata is pretty damn fast/cheap.

There are a host of 'third party' solutions from OWC etc but haven't tried any of them, always Glyph or G-Drive with never a complaint.

G-Drive is still around, and manufacture of the eSATA variant is being restarted - See Ryan's post above.

We put one of these on each of our workstations:

This way you can cycle client drives as quickly as you need to without having to re-wire a bunch of crap.

Then when you need to hand drives to clients, you have a bunch of external cases for these drives, ready to go. Wrap it up and send it to them.

It's the most cost effective way, and can be quicker for handing drives back and forth. You can also select cases based off client's needs: FW800, USB 3.0, eSata etc.

Our IT department handles bare drives pretty frequently, and it's worked well for us. Realiability hasn't been a problem. Just make sure you have a backup of the original data just in case something bad happens in transit.

We use the Mukii Zipo cases for our drives- seem to work out for us. Anybody have a better case solution?
