Hello

I've decided to install FW 7.0.1 coming from 6.3.102.

Loosing the Voltage from WC plate is a PITA... but now I find out that they also changed the way we monitor the picture.

Usually if shooting at 1600 iso when you clipped the highlights you had some more headroom in the RAW view. But now it's the contrary.

RAW clips before the indication in the RG3 view! Even at high iso settings like 2000 iso. (about 1/5th of a stop sooner)

This is quite a strange way of monitoring the signal and not very straightforward.

Please at least make it clip at the same exposure. To have some extra headroom is a good thing. Any input on this?

Pat

You mean that you see it clips on the "goal posts" on the side, but not on the histogram?

I've complained in a few posts here (see post #275) but I posted on this thread more: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?162158-DSMC-Release-v7-0-0/page14 , and also on Facebook, I really hope they will bring back Histogram per gamma.
If (again) me and you mean the same thing.

Are you familiar with the new ISO Calibrations for Helium? You should check those out as they might pertain to what you're seeing - http://s3.amazonaws.com/red_3/downloads/other/white-papers/ISO%20Recalibration%20for%20HELIUM.pdf

I'm just looking at the trafic lights and not metering my shot.

PS: But, even if it's not my topic, does this article mean that even Dragon based cameras have to decrease by 1 stop metering?
2000 old ISO Call = 1000 iso on the meter.

What camera are you using? Are you noticing similar functionality in the Histogram?
