Does the Komodo have a built-in angular velocity sensor?

I believe firmware 1.7.0beta added support for accelerometer and gyro data to R3D files.

Is that done internally, or is an actual third party plugged-in sensor required for that to happen?

That's great! Thank you. Do you think you could please explain how to see/ use that data? I have DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.

For other who also might have wondered, in Resolve, in the Inspector (right side of the screen), under the (top) Video tab > Enable Stabilization > Change Mode to Camera Gyro from the drop down Manu.

And with some digging around, apparently, the FPV crowd seems to mention this tool for Resolve: https://gyroflow.xyz

Hello, and thank you very much Brian.

I just recorded a short clip test my findings for Resolve (mentioned above), and in my case, I do not have "Camera Gyro" available for me to select.
Is there a settings in the Komodo that I am not aware of?

My understanding is with Beta 1.7 it automatically records the gyro data in the camera.
You do ,however, need software that can read that data. I'm not sure if Resolve directly supports Komodo's gyro data yet
but as you posted earlier the Gyroflow software does support Komodo gyro data.

I used Discord for the first time! I was able to ask a few questions on the GyroFlow Server. The main developer was the person helping.

A few takeaways:

- Resolve only seems to support Gyro Data natively for BlackMagic cameras only

- The main GyroFlow macOS software is a standalone application which makes use of the gyro data, allows loading a lens profile and also change a few other settings.
From there, the footage can be exported to ProRes or as a project to open in Resolve. In there, an optional GyroFlow plugin for Resolve allows to stabilize the R3D files within Resolve.

- Komodo is supported, but only by installing the latest version the developer is working on.
