  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Future Firmware - REAL REQUESTS (no higher framerates)

Yeah you right I also feel the Scarlet does not need more then 4K but do gives us 120 frames or more for 2K ;)

*I would like see a management software where you can customise the camera on a laptop or if possible over WI-FI with a iPad. ;)

*Faster auto focusing maybe with focus memory.

*Yeah still mode would be awesome!
 
As Jarred allready announced all main feature request I have for the upcoming build 4, I wish:

- New UI easier to navigate in the menus.
One that don't close all other menus every time you select a submenu (2nd and 3rd sub menu row use).

- Implement the focus check that was enabled in april-may 2011 and dropped soon after (called matrix I think).

As a person who made on of the threads that got drowned out in 5k demands, I applaud this thread.

And willpost what I put in that OP.

Think we'll get

Power management to eek more than 30mins out of my redvolts and not drain when when the power is off
Timelapse options for longer than 1fps and longer than 1sec exposures.

Any sort of higher framerate being offered at 4k, although this is probably quite unlikely.

A request that I would have is related to the numeric keypad that is presented on the touch screen when you want to specify a numerical setting manually

It would be helpful (to me) to have the virtual keys in the number pad be larger (or keep the virtual keys the same size but put some 'dead' space between them) and seperate the enter/accept and backspace keys so they are widely enough spaced from adjacent keys that it'd take an effort to hit either of them in combination with another key.
 
Everyone is so careful not to ask for 5k ff 24fps, but it seems likely it can be done since with lookaround in 4k, a 5k 24fps image is read out and debayered and downscaled to 1080p and recordable through sdi/hdmi.

I'm asking for 5k ff 24fps and 4k 24fps hdrx which red has said should be possible in the past.
 
Its been stated before but a quicker black shade would be such a big improvement. Not that I mind so much as that the people above me dont understand why it needs to be done
 
1. Quicker black shade
2. Enable view in RC3/RG3 but record to ssd/output in RC/RLF or custom color/gamma
3. Image flip
4. Button map live/playback view

Nice thread so far !!!

My "realistic" wish list:

realtime motion data readout of gyro and accelerometer to enable syncing with virtual backgrounds during green screen shooting. (by Gigabit-Ethernet or WiFi to feed into a 3D app ...)

writing the gyro and accelerometer to the meta data on a per frame basis for post work

make aspect ratios more compatible between Scarlet-X and Epic for mixed setups

stop motion mode: adding frames per trigger to a R3D file.
