Hey all,
I originally wrote this message out to John, but he may have been swamped and didn't get a chance to see it. Just a few questions that I had, because shooting with IR light really interests me for an upcoming project. I'm considering picking up either the IR or Full Spectrum OLPFs from KT sometime soon, and I've been having a heavy-handed debate between which is the best alternative.
I'm mostly interested in the pros / cons of both, with mostly questions pertaining to:
1) Which is the best if I'm interested in shooting off-color sequences?
2) Assuming that it's the Full Spectrum, what sort of front filters should I consider owning?
3) Is there any challenge if I use a front filter + Full Spectrum versus having the KT IR OLPF cutting the light behind the glass? Ghosting, soft focus, etc?
4) If I do move with the Full Spectrum route, are there any filters you recommend getting for creative purposes or a brand that you prefer?
Very excited to get creative with one of these OLPFs, but the information available (for IR Video) is so limited. Tried my best to find the answers in the FAQ per item page in the store, but the answers didn't really seem to pertain to my questions.
I'm considering using the filter for dream sequences in a feature film I'm working on, and I want to make sure quality is king. Tips and tricks are welcome, caught one of your ghosting videos with the face through smoke and it looked so cool !
