Might not be the place to ask. When I try to open in Premiere Pro CS4 is says the .r3d file is wrong format or damaged. Any thoughts?

I'm very glad and grateful that Epic RAW footage is being made available. And even 300 fps footage. Thank you very much!
I did have the plugin for CS4 installed. Any other ideas? If not I will troubleshoot until I figure it out. Thanks.
Perhaps try CS5 trial? Maybe CS4 doesn't support EPIC R3Ds?

Did you try opening them in RC-X? It could be that your download was corrupted.
well first of all I'm happy to have slowmotion clips in 2k and in Red RAW. And it's not just some test footage, I find the clips very well chosen; the balloon clip is spectacular, and the toy car carambolage clip is funny and a good demonstration at the same time. You're very welcome Philipp. What did you think of the raw files on REDCINE-X?
:willy_nilly: thx, love to have some test material to play with.

The coin clip seems to expose some motion/rolling shutter effect. When you look at a single frame you can clearly see that the coin is distorted as if it was treated with heat or a hammer. But you don't see it in motion. This is something I have to keep in mind though.
The clips with black (veil) background are a bit noisy (in the background), this shows that one has to be careful with highspeed settings. But I'm not sure, maybe a regular 24 fps clip with the same setup/lens would maybe show the same amount of background noise as well? In fact the noise can be seen on all clips, also in the foreground, but you notice it best in the black veil background. I have some Phantom footage (in Prores and xdcam codecs) with black background that do not show noise, but I have no information about them being processed before internet distribution or not.
But noise and preventing noise is a rather academic question. I just keep it in mind as long as I wait for my Scarlet or Epic. I have seen Epic 300 fps clips on Vimeo without any noise (but without black background). Until I can test it out for myself, the internet is my camera.:smile5: That's why your footage you generously upload is very valuable for me, so I can test my workflow without camera. Thanks again.
I have had no problems dropping these r3d's into premiere 5.5. I'm fairly certain there is no epic support in the red plugins for previous versions of premiere but best ask the adobe guysmake sure you have downloaded the latest plugin for cs 5.5 (epic support came a lil after release of 5.5 for those that did not know)
