As far as I know, the HR version of the Angie 25-250 was only and always T.3.5.

I believe the HP model's front rotates, eliminating the possibility of a clip-on mattebox.
It's a generation older, so I would assume optically a step down from the HR (which in itself is a step down from an Optimo)
Not sure of any other disadvantages...
Maybe the lens marking is not as detailed as the HR and the Optimo?
Cheers,
Harry

I have one in my possession at the moment. It telescopes in and out, but does not rotate. It does telescope enough though that a bellows can't travel the full length from 6' focus to infinity.

Others have said here that the HP is optically the same or very similar, it's the mechanics that got a hefty upgrade in the HR.

In my very casual tests, the HP seems relatively sharp and modern looking. So far I've only seen weakness on the long end wide open (duh), but there might be more I haven't seen.

Seems like a great lens for $6500.

Ah, yes. Telescoping, not rotating. My memory of that lens is hazy. Thanks, Nate...

I think Nate meant the HP, not the HR...
